Breaking Benjamin – The Diary Of Jane lyrics
If I have to
I would put myself right beside you
So let me ask
Would you like that?
Would you like that?

And I don't mind
If you say this love is the last time
So now I'll ask
Do you like that?
Do you like that?

No

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be

Try to find out what makes you tick
As I lie down
Sore and sick
Do you like that?
Do you like that?

There's a fine line between love and hate
And I don't mind
Just let me say that I like that
I like that

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane
As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place in the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be

Desperate, I will crawl
Waiting for so long
No love, there is no love
Die for anyone
What have I become

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane
As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place
In the diary of Jane

This song is about him loving a girl and he thinks he loves her back, but when she drowned in the tub by accident (no she didn't kill herself) he looks in her diary to see if she had wrote about him. She never did write about him and this song is how mad he is but he still loves her he even thinks of suicide to get to her. Its a deep meaning if you think about it because moslty everyone feels like that about someone in their life.

I think this song is about a girl that he is in love with. However, this girl keeps to herself and doesn't want to let him in. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to get her to notice what he wants. He loves her but, also hates her for being who she is. However, he can't let go. So, he will go, day by day, just trying to get a chance at her love.

Actually the song is about what you think its about its not about one specific thing like other songs if you think its about god it is if you think its about a girl it is its about whatever you want it to be! As all their other songs that's their purpose none of it is about a specific thing they do that so that song can mean something to everyone.

Let say this song was said to be the love story of one of the band members. Same as boy meets girl and falls in love but the twist is that she doesn't shows whether she loves him or not. After an accident, the feeling of defeat might have came over and tries to find out whether she loves him, hence the line try to find my place in the Diary of Jane. Wanting to yet couldn't because the obstacles he might have faced or the difficulties trying to find out, hence the line something's staying in the way. And with the emotional build that he might have faced would have almost overfilled, hence the line something's just about to break. Or could have been possibly someone who was dear to him and he wanted to see whether he was dear to them, might find the answer within her diary.

My suggestion of this song it that there is a boy that fell in love with someone but wanted to know what he was in her life, wanting to know but never got the chance, hence the line, "something's getting in the way," and the emotional build that he is having, hence the line, "something's just about to break," or could have possibly someone who was dear to him but wanted to find if he was dear to them, hence the line, "I will try to find my place, in the Diary Of Jane," and wanting to be with them, hence the line, "If I had to, I would put myself beside you," or possibly he wanted to give up, yet turning back and hoping for a chance of love with her. No matter what the cost, he is willing to find what is his place within her life, hence the line, "As I burn another page, As I turn the other way, I still try to find my place in the Diary Of Jane."

Ok, gotta be my 2nd favorite song, I do infact know the meaning, he has found the Diary of Jane, his dead girlfriend's diary and can see his name is no where to be found in it only the guy that she was cheating on him with was, that's why he's saying I Will Try To Find My Place In The Diary of Jane. He's writing about his hate and broken heart. :)

I interpret it from the lyrics and the video that he holds a flame for her and will never quite give up, but she has lost herself, can't see herself in any of the mirrors. When you have lost yourself, the person who loves you is in for a lot of pain and confusion because you can only ever give them part of you and they will always require more, some quietly press on (I wish they wouldn't).

This song is about an emotionally toxic/abusive relationship, and how the man in the relationship is trying to piece everything together. -"Something's getting in the way, something's just about to break, I will try to find my place, in The Diary Of Jane."
Hence that line, in which refers to how everything is about to fall about but he's trying to piece it all back together

Frontman65 has this exactly. This is about a man who loves a woman, like in the music video, but she drowns. And the only thing he has to remind himself of her is her diary, but she hasn't written about him in the diary, and he gets upset and angry at this, "i will try to find my place in the diary of jane"
Awesome song, one of their bests defo.

This song means change, not specifically end. Sometimes, no matter if it's love relationship or friendship or something else, sometimes as people change thing tend to do the same. This song for me right now means the changes in my life, the things that I'm doing for my future and my health. Yet again it means the little things that are changing who my friends are and whatever actually my relationship with my boyfriend is. I love this song - it keeps me strong!

This song is about a guy who is debating whether or not to let the girl he likes know how he feels. "something's getting in the way". And he wants to know whether or not she feels the same, "as i look the other way i will try to fins my place in the diary of jane". This is a great song, and it has to be one of my faves by breaking ben.

Either of the band member had someone they fell in love with but wanted to know whether they liked him back so probably this song is complying a love or some they lost and wanted to find out whether they were dear to them.
