Amazing Grace – Amazing Grace lyrics

Amazing Grace!
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see

'Twas Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
'Tis Grace has brought me safe thus far
And Grace will lead me home

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures;
He will my sheild and portion be,
As long as life endures

Yet, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall posess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace

When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun

Thank God for His amazing grace though we are sinners, His saving grace is available to those who believed and received Him as His personal Lord and Savior. When our mortal bodies will be decayed, he gives us new incorruptible bodies. To be with God is the most peaceful and unspeakable joy we experience. Thank You Lord for your amazing Grace, even the author who wrote this was overwhelmed by God's grace and Love he felt that moment.

The guy who wrote this has an amazing life story. In the early part of his life he wasn't religious at all but was the captain of a slave ship. One night at sea in a bad storm he yelled out to God for the first time asking for mercy and so from that moment he slowly began to find his faith and felt undeserving of God's love and mercy because of how he had lived his life up until then. He gave up the slave trade and worked for the Church and campaigned for the abolition of slavery even helping to provide guidance to the man who would become British Prime Minister (William Wilberforce) and abolish slavery in Britain and it's empire (see the movie 'Amazing Grace' starring Ioan Gruffudd for Wilberforce's story). In old age he went blind himself just like in his lyrics. Knowing his story and re-reading the lyrics really brings it home what it meant to him and the value of true deeply felt repentance. Peace and amazing grace be with you John Newton.

The meaning of this song is to see the grace that the lord gives us. To show how we should love and care for the lord. It is saying to be graceful to the lord. We should love every thin the lord gives us. At church we should praise him and love him. We would not be here if it was not for God. He made every thing you see now. People would not be able to make man-made-things if god was not here. God is our fist father. We should respect him. We are Gods people. We might be seen from a bad eye but we should still stay loyal to our god. People may not like us. People may mistreat us. People might worship a diffrent god but we don't care because God our holy god is with us. May god bless you all.
