Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

You're sick of feeling numb
You're not the only one
I'll take you by the hand
And I'll show you a world that you can understand
This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn't work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out you will understand

Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Anger and agony
Are better than misery
Trust me I've got a plan
When the lights go out you will understand

Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing (I'd rather feel pain)

I know (I know, I know, I know)
I know that you're wounded
You know (You know, you know, you know)
That I'm here to save you
You know (You know, you know, you know)
I'm always here for you
I know (I know, I know, I know)
That you'll thank me later

Pain, without love
Pain, can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all (rather feel pain!)

Well, everone said that its cuz he wuz on a painkiller that wiped all felling and emotion from him, and that he would rather feel the pain from not taking the drug, then nothing at all from taking it. I beleive this could be right but it could mean other things to other people so, whatev.

He feels pain inside. If you feel no pain, your emotionless, feel dead inside, but if you feel something then you no ur alive. So when you feel pain (itehr if you feel its cutting, or just a pain you have from loveing someone) you feel alive. And the tougher the pain, the more alive you feel.

Idk, that's what I get out of it.

This is one of my fav songs by 3 Days Grace. The song basically means to be numb to everything around you and just wanting to do something to change that. And it also means to be feeling completly empty inside and wanting to feel something rather then nothing at all and so therefore he would rather feel pain.

To me this song is about a person who has been emotionally or physically scarred enough to rather feel pain than they would anything else. To me this song is about a person who's become so accustomed to pain that they've grown a liking to it. They crave on that pain and sorrow.

Actually, it talks bout the lead singers (Adam gontier) pain. He kept on getting this painful feeling so his doctor gave him ocxytoxin(painkillers)
he got addicted and he had a chance of ending up like michael jackson(dead). Then he wrote the song saying he rather feel pain the die feeling nothing at all.
