I'll be coming home
Just to be alone
Cause I know you're not there
And I know that you don't care
I can hardly wait to leave this place
No matter how hard I try
You're never satisfied
This is not a home
I think I'm better off alone
You always disappear
Even when you're here
This is not my home
I think I'm better off alone
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a home
By the time you come home
I'm already stoned
You turn off the TV
And you scream at me
I can hardly wait
Till you get off my case [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/three_days_grace/home.html ]
No matter how hard I try
You're never satisfied
This is not a home
I think I'm better off alone
You always disappear
Even when you're here
This is not my home
I think I'm better off alone
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a home
I'm better off alone
No matter how hard I try
You're never satisfied
This is not a home
I think I'm better off alone
You always disappear
Even when you're here
This is not my home
I think I'm better off alone
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a home
Music is an expression of self. I believe this is based on teenage angst and parental control. When you are a teenager, parents seem to harass you more and yell a lot. No matter what you do, you are always getting in trouble. You just can't seem to please them. As a result, you become depressed and move farther away from them (relationship wise); resorting to drugs, alcohol, and other risky behaviors. You spend time alone in your room or not even in the house at all. All you can wait for is the moment when you can just get up and leave, with the intention of never coming back.
This song to me is about being trapped not only at home but anywhere you go with parents or any of the people who say your still a kid but especially at home and they try to run your life even when you turn18 theyll do it
This song can mean many things to a person. I perceive it as a teenager being trapped almost by his parents. They're abusing him and such, or they're trying to control their life and they just want to get out. The other way is how most perceive it. As a relationship gone sour and the "house" is not "home" anymore.
I think it's about a relationship that has gone sour. They don't like each other anymore, but they continue to live in the same house. He's saying this building, this house, is no longer home for him. "i'm better off alone" probably means he's better off living without her.
Ok well its like, (all my meanings are from own experience people ok? ) i think its like, so many people just dont want u around and they are ticked at u doing one little thing wrong and they dont think u can turn ur frown upside down. I mean what the fuck. Like ur family jus cant stand u and u cant stand them.. A home is a place where u are free.. (music is freedom ppl! ) the chorus is strong cause its so true, hard to explain, but i think most of ya'll are on my riff.
