This whole routine is getting old
So am I and so are you.
My reputation lets me know I can do whatever I want to
Though it seems that you believe you can do whatever it is you please
Not before, not before you wind up on your knees.
(Don't cry to me no more)
You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical.
You set yourself up to be sold.
And that's okay cause that's your role.
Manipulation takes it toll.
What will you do when nobody wants you?
Though it seems that you believe you can do whatever it is you please
Not before, not before you wind up on your knees. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/the_red_jumpsuit_apparatus/pen_and_paper.html ]
(Don't cry to me no more)
You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical.
I know I've stood so long beside you
And I know I should have left you right where I had found you
I know I stood so long beside you
And I've know I should have left you right where I had found you
You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical.
You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical.

You are so caught up in your selfish ways that you don't care about me anymore. But in the end you are going yo fall flat on your face because all you have will be gone and no one will be there to help you up. I stood by you when i should of left; but your so fake, why did i even bother!?

Its about taking someone in yourlife thats fake and removing them! And i |just did that!! I love this song!! :))
This means to me .. "you like the way the people stare at you now" means that when she wasnt with him she was a nobody and now the people always look at her in a way that she likes so the fame is making her somebody that shes not. " though it seems that you belive you can do whatever it is you please not before, not before you wind up on your knees" means that when he breaks up with her thats when she's going to realiza that she was being fake and letting his fame get to her head... My point the red jumpsuit apparatus is one of the most influential, lyrical band ever. Love them 2 thimbs way up! .
Just gotta say that this song is so, so, so addicting! I love this band!
Anyway, i think it's basically about this girl he broke up with, because they're all the same, they get distracted by his fame and the way people are staring at them now that they're on his arm, and they basically don't love him, but his fame.
Like he says "this whole routine is getting old", and "you're all the same", so that's like him saying "this is happening too many times, all these girls are the same.
"you like the way the people stare at you now, you look so fake... " is when he's talking about how the girls always get caught up in his fame, and not him in himself.
"you set yourself up to be sold, and that's okay 'cause that's your role, manipulation takes it toll, what will you do when nobody wants you? " is him saying how the girls are always trying to be "sold", like in a magazine or news article or whatever. And he's saying that it's okay because that's basically just their role, because that's what they all do. And then he's saying that the results of their actions are coming up, like him dumping her, and he's just like asking 'what will they do when nobody wants them? ', because nobody will even care about the girl now that she's not with someone in a famous band.
"i know i stood so long beside you, and i know i should have left you right where i had found you" is where he's saying he regrets staying with her so long when he knew she wasn't in it for him but his status, and he's wishing he had never gotten into a relationship with her because this sort of thing always happens.
This song really shows you the difficulties of being famous. Like most people just think that it's a walk in the park, and it must be so fun when everyone knows your name and face and admire you. But in reality, it's pretty rough, and when things like relationships get ruined because of it, it just sucks. It shows also, how shallow people can get, and how easily hearts can be broken.
You've really gotta applaude the red jumpsuit apparatus on this one. Two thumbs up and standing ovations, people! They rock!
