There-there's these terrors
And it's like, it feels like as if
Somebody was gripping my
There's these terrors
And it's like, it feels like as if
Somebody was gripping my throat
Uh, they're not like tremors
They're worse than tremors
There-there's these terrors
Like last night
Uh, they're not like tremors
They're worse than tremors
They're-there's these terrors
And it's like, it feels like as if
Somebody was gripping my throat
And squeazing and I felt
Like as if somebody was gripping my throat
Some say
Now suffer all the children
And walk away a savior
Or a madman and polluted
From gutter institutions
Don't you breathe for me
Undeserving of your sympathy
'Cause there ain't no way that I'm sorry
For what I did [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/m/my_chemical_romance/sleep.html ]
And through it all
How could you cry for me?
'Cause I don't feel bad about it
So shut your eyes
Kiss me goodbye
And
Sleep
Just sleep
The hardest part
Is letting go of
Your dreams
A drink
For the horror that I'm in
For the good guys and the bad guys
For the monsters that I've been
Three cheers for tyranny
Unapologetic empathy
'Cause there is no way that I'm coming back again
And through it all
How could you cry for me
'Cause I don't feel bad about it
So shut your eyes
Kiss me goodbye
And
Sleep
Just sleep
The hardest parts
The awful things that
I've seen
Sometimes I see flames
And sometimes I see people that I love dying
And it's always-
I see flames and I-
Just sleep
And it's always
Just sleep
Just sleep
Just sleep
Just sleep
Just sleep

Seeing his past self. Maybe he was a troubled child and you can walk away from the dump of your children ok or not ok. That he can drink away or sleep away the pain but can never really run away. Maybe he has an alter ego(s) and has a temper that can be a bad guy or a good guy. Or maybe it was one of his parents that was a good guy or bad guy and you can never really know in dis world. That he has sinned and sorry for it and what he's done to the world. Perhaps it's a suicide note 'and there ain't no way i'm coming back again'
And i think it's a nightmare for that child, and he can never and ever wake up from this nightmare. And one thing else if u translate this lyrics from english to english u can clearly read what the sound say in the middle of the song and at the biegining. I think gerard say that child youre only way is sleeping ... Oh what a sad song i * * love it ! * * *

In the first and before anything i wanna say iam agree with massakurr23 , in the beginning he says "now suffer all the children" not save . And i wanna say i think its about a child that sufferd becase of a bad man he says about suffering and in the bieginig he say i always hope that someone come and rescue me and then it say about madman that suffer him and polluted streets and then he say i don't need you're sympathy becase i didn't do something wrong and i forgive u so sleep then it say what the bad man say(a drink for ... Coming back again)
well its my idea sorry if it's any mistake in my comment. English is my 2 language.
When i heard gerard way explaining the meaning of the album he mentioned that the patient goes on a journey after the black parade comes to get him. He meets characters along the way who share their experiences with him. In my opinion this song is about one of these characters. This one is a man who has been executed for his crimes. The more i listen to these songs, the deeper the meanings get. It can be quite profound in the middle of the night.
I think this song is about kids who cant sleep because they are so scared to close their eyes because all they see is hatred and cant wake up from the darkness. Rock on mcr!!!

"don't you breathe for me/undeserving of your sympathy/'cause there ain't no way that i'm sorry/for what i did. "
the singer is a criminal of sorts that committed a great wrong to society. However, there are "institutions" that feel sorry for him because he suffered through a life of poverty. They believe that he is the victim, but he wanted to be the criminal because he believed society was wrong in the first place.
"and through it all/how could you cry for me? /'cause i don't feel bad about it/so shut your eyes/kiss me goodbye/and sleep/just sleep/the hardest part is letting go of/your dreams. "
the singer has a lover that knows his feelings towards society, and knows that he truly is the victim of suffering. She's from a higher standing in society, and has dreams of becoming something great. He, however, is going to jail and cannot be with her, even though he wants to be part of her dreams.
"a drink/for the horror that i'm in/for the good guys and the bad guys/for the monsters that i've been/three cheers for tyranny/unapologetic apathy/'cause there is no way that i'm coming back again. "
he "drinks" to his life and how it's been, with all his suffering and all the hard times he's went through, and all the different things he had to be to get through it. He gives three cheers to tyranny and apathy because he recognizes that, in the end, he can't win. This song is complimented by "teenagers. "
Maybe it was all about the patient's life and he reflects it as his worst nightmare because of the sins that he have done when he was still living. He is not expecting that his family will be sad for his lost because he is a bad person when he was still alive and all of his family want him dead.
