This is talking about a man and wanting to fall in love with a beautiful woman, but the world around them is ugly, making looks change and make her seem ugly on the inside, he is the beautiful one while he wishes them both to be ugly, in the end it's all heart break. She doesn't love him back like he does her, so he gives up and tells her "Your just too good,that's why i can't have you."

Umm. I'm sorry, this song is not about ferard.
Please go be a ferard fangirl somewhere else.
This song is about basically a girl, who a man is in love with and thinks she is the one.
She cheats on him with another man (hence, are you thinking of him?) and they break things off, but he still loves her. And he wants her to know, that although the world is an ugly place, and people don't have happy endings, and she broke his heart, he still loves her and think's she is beautiful.
If this song is directed towards anyone it would be directed towards gerard's ex-girlfriend, eliza.

After listening to it a few times, reading the lyrics and taking these moments to read inbetween the lines it feels like a love letter from the band to their fans. These are the eyes and the lies of the taken

They burn, cuz' they are all afraid, for everyone of us
There's an "army" of them, but you'll never fight alone (always reminded that the fan base was referred to as the MCRmy. This was one of the last batches of songs the band released before the split. I feel like they wanted something specifically important for their fans, the ones that have stuck by them and still to this day love them and everything they have stood for. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it surprises me that no one else has thought to suggest this as it's meaning.

the meaning is that even though everything around you Is ugly there is one thing in your life that can be beautiful and you shouldn't try to be like them because they are already taken. also there are people on your side, you can take something ugly and make it beautiful. you are just as good as they are so don't listen to them. everyone else is taken so turn you're life into something beautiful and make sure it can be ignored their lies are taken, they are afraid so they take it out on you but don't let them cuz they don't have the right . sometimes saying sorry wont help but if you have one person on your side you will be fine so stop crying, star believing cuz they cant take away your hope, your spirit , your love. let them be part of an ugly world and you can be something beautiful if you want to be. don't turn cold like them cuz you're beautiful to me....

The song explains a man and a woman in love, and society doesn't like it. He's trying to prove to her that no matter what anyone says, her loves her and that the world (or as it is society) is in fact the ugly one, alongside being close-minded. As in an overaged relationship, he needs to leave her, for both there's sakes. He doesn't want to, but it is what society wants.

Gerard wrote this song for Frank because, reasons. I know you may think that I'm just another Frerard shipper, but it actually is true. He wrote it for him because he wanted to remind Frank of how beautiful he was and how ugly the world is. If that isn't sweet, I don't know what is.

I think the meaning of the song is that people in the world are to busy looking for the beautiful things to release that the one you could be looking for is right in front of you. Also it means that everything in the world is ugly because everyone is trying to be like someone else so they can fit in that they won't be themselves. The song is trying to tell people that being different is good because not everyone in the world is the same and it wouldn't be a very good life if everyone in the world was the same because everyone would like the same things and do the same things and that life would get boring if everyone was the same. It also tells people that you should stop trying to be like other people and just be yourself. When I first listen to this song I didn't know what the meaning was but as a listened to it more and more and more I learned that they were trying to say is that you shouldn't be the same as other people, you should be different and do your own things in life cause being the same isn't good.
