Bring Me The Horizon – It Never Ends lyrics

[Verse 1]
Started off as a one night stand, lingered to a fling.
The sirens and the surgeons, didn't seem to mean a thing
.
Hide your fangs all you want, you still need the blood.
Tell us that it's different now, you're up to no good.

Take my hand, show me the way,
We are the children that fell from grace.
Take my hand, show me the way,
We are the children who can't be saved
.

[Pre-Chorus]
One more nail in the coffin,
One more foot in the grave,
One more time I'm on my knees, as I try to walk away.
How has it come to this?

[Chorus]
I've said it once, I've said it twice,
I've said it a thousand fucking times,
That I'm okay, that I'm fine,
That it's all just in my mind!
But this has got the best of me,
And I can't seem to sleep,
It's not because you're not with me,
It's because you never leave
!

(I've said it one... thousand fucking times)

[Verse 2]
(You say this is suicide?)
You say this is suicide?
I say this is a war.
And I'm losing the battle,
Man down
, man down!
Oh!
Is this what you call love?
This is, a war, I can't win!

[Pre-Chorus]
One more nail in the coffin,
One more foot in the grave,
One more time I'm on my knees, as I try to walk away.
Everything I loved, became everything I lost
.

[Chorus]
I've said it once, I've said it twice,
I've said it a thousand fucking times,
That I'm okay, that I'm fine,
That it's all just in my mind!
But this has got the best of me,
And I can't seem to sleep,
It's not because you're not with me,
It's because you never leave!
It's not because you're not with me,
It's because you never leave.

(Whispered - Every second, every minute, every hour, every day)

[Outro]
Every second, every minute, every hour, every day
It never ends, it never ends
.
Every second, every minute, every hour, every day
It never ends, it never ends
Every second, every minute, every hour, every day
It never ends, it never ends
Every second, every minute, every hour, every day
It never ends, it never ends!

The song is about addiction. When you do drugs you are killing yourself thus the lyrics you say this is suicide? I say this is a war.
The song starts off referring to trying drugs once but having them take over your life. I don't personally know oliver sykes but I'm a recovering heroin addict and this song hits home really hard. But if youve never experienced having drugs on your mind and having them run your life every minute every hour every day, well then you can believe that this is just another song about broken hearts.

It's about more than just a drug addiction. It's about all the people in Oli's life that have done him wrong. They even show them all in the music video. There's the Serpent, all the women who have done him wrong. The Leech, the people that have used him. Consequence, shown as a police officer. Show all the times he's gotten in trouble, and paid the consequences. The Enabler - the drug dealer. The Dirt - paparazzi. It's all the wrong that's gone on in his life. The people that just want to use him. And how they wont stop until they get all they want from him.

This song, I think, means the voices He hear inside his head. They never go away there always there. And they want you to die and it's a huge battle inside that never goes away. It starts off just a one time thing the progresses into never ending always there and no matter what you do they never go away. They practically take your hand and lead you to death, they yell at you so much you think death is the only way but your conscience is fighting back. I think the voices he hears in his head are telling him to die and it's messing him up. You try to tell yourself it's just in your mind that it's all okay but it keeps getting worse. You can't sleep because it won't leave you alone then it keeps yelling at you making you feel horrible and to die. So it's a huge fight to survive. This is my opinion it may not be what he thinks but everything he has said I've been through because I hear voices and it all makes since to me.

Omgosh -.- really? Drugs? Its about his conscience! Jeez *And I can't seem to sleep. It's not because you're not with me. It's because you never leave.* he is regretting his past life and now his conscience wont leave him be. *Hide your fangs all you want, you still need the blood.
Tell us that it's different now, you're up to no good.* this is talking about how you can pretend to be a good person all you want but there is darkness inside of you that makes you feel the need to do bad stuff by nature. And the part that says "tell us that its different now, you're up to no good" is talking about that people know he is down a bad road (drug addiction, alcohol addiction, W. E) and he has been for a long time so people doubt his change cause it is unlikely. In a nutshell its a song about he wanting his conscience to leave him alone.

This song in my perpespective is about hooking up with someone whom you never thought you would end up dating. After a while you ignore the signs of a downfall relationship and pretend its ok when you know it isn't. The nail in the coffin and foot in the grave is a metaphor for how things are going really bad. Reason for the whole I can't sleep not because your never there but because youll never leave.
So I think its more of a having a relantionship with the wrong person than a break-up.
