I could be completel wrong, but i think this has something to do with a drug addiction (like other songs)

'blood' is probably the drug he is addicted to. "we lived fast and died pretty" if you have loads of harmful drugs your probably gunna die younger...

Most of his songs might be about drug addictions. So that gave me the idea... :)
