Kristen Bell – Do You Want To Build A Snowman? lyrics

Toddler Anna: Elsa? (knocks)
Do you want to build a snowman?
Come on let's go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door,
It's like you've gone away

We used to be best buddies
And now we're not

I wish you would tell me why
Do you want to build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a Snowman

Young Elsa: Go away, Anna

Toddler Anna: Okay, bye

Young Anna: (knocks)
Do you want to build a snowman
Or ride our bike around the halls?
I think some company is overdue
I've started talking to
The pictures on the walls
(Hang in there, Joan! )

It gets a little lonely,
All these empty rooms
Just watching the hours tick by
(Tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock)

Anna: (knocks) Elsa?
Please I know you're in there,
People are asking where you've been,
They say "have courage";
And I'm trying to
I'm right out here for you
Just let me in

We only have each other
It's just you and me
What are we gonna do
Do you want to build a snowman? (sniff)

I love this song, it makes me want to cry. It has so much pent up emotion in one small package, Anna trying to find love and attention from her long lost sister, but for years upon years upon years she fails and it eventually gets to where she cannot be consoled by her sister in her time of need, she needs to have that emotional support from her sister, the last person in her life that really cares about her. She is really trying to connect and be happy but she cannot find that love and warmth from her sister, only cold and ice. She has to find caring from other things, like starting to talk to the pictures on the walls, obviously starting to hallucinate and get bored easily, until it builds up so much that she is so starved for love and affection that she foolishly falls hopelessly in love with Hans, which makes me want to cry in pain from the awkwardness and obviousness of his faking his love for Anna. I hate Hans as a character and as a concept for anything other than a generic villain and a terrible person in general. And then we have the expanded content from "Once Upon A Time", that just proves that Hans is to terrible a person to exist.

They wanted to say don't give because Anna kept trying until it got hard but she did keep trying through out the whole movie and Anna and Elsa became good sisters again. She was bored until the big thing at the castle and then Elsa left and Anna was trying to find her and that's what she was singing about don't give up on your dreams because you can do them because Anna did by becoming friends with her sister at the end of the movie.

The song means that Anna really misses Elsa and would like to spend more time with here as she still has great memory's of when her and Elsa played together, yet it also means that she is lonely ever since he parents died on the boat, and would like to have someone.
