Hannibal Abdullah-El – Gangster Fairytales lyrics
Chorus:

Gangster,
Gangster Fairytales
You meet us
Ya greet us
You see us everyday
We natural born leaders

Verse: 1

I can tell ya kind
Delusions from tv on ya mind
Eatin' swine
Sippin on cheap wine,
Ya ass crack showin
Thats why we far behind
Its cool
Thats why im hear
To raise the deaf, dumb and blind,
You think your handsome
Get kidnapped
Held for ransom,
You ya wife, momma, daughter, grandparents and grandson,
Ever heard the sound of automatic gunfire?
Seen a life expire?
Or somebody beat with barbwire?,
Weirdo,
Who wanna be a hero
Probably shit on ya self
If you seen a whole kilo,
Armchair revolutionaries
Act hard but scary
I'll cast the first stone
Nobody has to dare me,
Are you a man or a mouse
Im looking for soldiers
Like that cat
Who started dumpin on the White House,
Are you a man or a mouse
Im looking for soldiers
Like that cat
Who started dumpin on the White House,
That's gangster

Chorus:

Gangster,
Gangster Fairytales
You meet us
Ya greet us
You see us everyday
We natural born leaders

Verse: 2

Watching videos
Don't get caught up in the glamour and glitz
Fat rides
Half naked women and tight spits
I prefer to drop science
Create a tight alliance
Change the system from within
Sort of a silent defiance
On this world wide monopoly
From here to Tripoli
Ain't no stopping me im free
Not state property
Slanging yo asshole and lyrics
Like commodities
No tellin' on myslef on a record
Thats an atrocity
Like a bumblebee
Only stinging when attacked
Counter attack
To yo head, legs, arms and back
Ranaway so fast people thought you ran track
Mess with me you'd rather smoke crack
Or jump in needle haystacks
Thats gangsta!

Verse: 3

On my way to school
I dodged murder plots
Crooked cops
Never knew my moms
The streets were my pops,
Use to get called a nerd
Didn't faze me
Cuz some knew in my pocket
That I packed a .380,
Calm before a storm
Like a soldier in Vietnam
Ready to set it off
And get it on,
Fudge packers
Black crackers
Back packers
And bisexual B-Boys
Need to be sued for malpractice,
Giving no repreive
Keeping tricks up my sleeve
Slaying Adam and Steve
Who hate Adam and Eve,
It gets scary to them
They can not stop us
On warships, submarines,
Planes, tanks and helicopters,
Think what would happen
If we said sam i quit
Working for you
By the way this is our shit,
Like corporate takeovers
Give em a makeover,
Get bush drunk
Put em' on house arrest
Then beat him till he sober,
Daz gangster!

Chorus:

Gangster,
Gangster Fairytales
You meet us
Ya greet us
You see us everyday
We natural born leaders

I wrote this song pissed off at the Iraq War, certain provisions of the patriot act and the state of affairs, in the African-American Community I live in and in the other communities. Specifically I am adressing the need for young adults, and adults who joing gangs, sell drugs and commit acts of violence. They do this not to be thought of as cool for the most, but more so because they have to survive, withing the existing parameters of their immediate and respective communities. A lot of youth especially those who are not from North America, have a false perception of how hard (in their eyes easy) it is to sell drugs, etc.

I have told people in the past being a 'criminal' isnt't easy, nor is being a drug dealer! Your life is always in danger, you never technically have a day off and just because you stop (officially) doing, whatever it is you were doing in the streets, stopping 'whatever' doesn't guarantee you safe passage, to roam or move about the country, or within their immediate community. Just because at some point you decide to leave the 'game', it doesn't mean people will immediately absolve you of previous acts of malfeasance/crimes for lack of a better word!
