It's been a while since the two of us talked
About a week since the day that you walked
Knowing things would never be the same
With your empty heart and mine full of pain
So explain to me, how it came to this
Take it back to the night we kissed
It was Dublin City on a Friday night
You were vodkas and coke, I was Guinness all night

We were sitting with our backs against the world
Saying things that we thought would never hurt.
Who would have thought it would end up like this?
Where everything we talked about is gone
And the only chance we have of moving on

Is trying to take it back
Before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decided
It was time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try to take it back
Before it all went wrong

There was a time that we'd stay up all night
Best friends talking till the daylight
Took the joys alongside the pain
With not much to loose, but so much to gain
Are you hearing me? Cause I don't wanna miss,
Set you a drift on memory bliss
It was Grafton Street on a rainy night
I was down on one knee and you were mine for life

We we're thinking we would never be apart
With your name tattooed across my heart
Who would have thought it would end up like this?
Where everything we talked about is gone
And the only chance we have of moving on

Is trying to take it back
Before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decided
It was time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try to take it back
Before it all went wrong

If the clouds don't clear
Then we'll rise above it, we'll rise above it
Heavens gate is so near
Come walk with me through
Just like we used to, just like we used to

Let's take it back
Before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decided
It was time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try to take it back
Before it all went wrong

Personally this song means alot to me and probably does to alot of people going through hard times in relationships they thought were so strong nothing could break the bond. To me this song describes a relation that I'm trying to keep a hold off as it was all going good till he decided he needed to move on and hearing this song reminds me that I'm not the only one in the world that goes through bad times but we never seem to learn we always find someone new to love righ?

They were blinded by love. Which ultimately faded. Danny knows they aren't right for eachother but rather than facing the pain of getting over her he wants to keep up the relationship. However, I think he knows what happened was for the best, breakups happen for a reason.
It's about that struggle you go through when you lose the person you have planned your life around. There are few worse feelings out there.

A couple who flew head over heels meeting eachother, as if nothing would ever change and it would always remain that one night where the word and thoughts poured out of eachothers mouths. Of course being un aware that they were probably lost in the moment. It got to the point where they were engaged and it seems married? But. An argument or reality check hit and things took a turn for the worst, but still in deep meaningful love, or at least one of them seems to be. One of them or both of them decide to slow it down and trying and take it 'before the worst' had hit, it appears very enthusiastic but a glint of this-hope (if that's a word)appears, where what if does go wrong? What if is just dark clouds from here? That doesn't matter their love is way to strong to let anything get in the way of it, like they are meant to be. They will overcome it and remain together 'happily ever after' because after all its only eachother that matters to them no one else, just, eachother.

The song is about broken hearts. They thought that no one or nothing would be able t tear them apart, ever. Some how they were proven wrong. Trying to move on with their life, they know they know that they still love each other more than anything. One of them saying that "you know before we learn to move on, and fall in love with someone else... Here we stand knowing that we love each other, let's start all over, forget about the things that went wrong. "
To me it seems to be too much of a perfect break up song, but I have been able to relate it to my life once. It's all about knowing that you two love each, and that you should get back together because you know it will end up being better this time around.

A very long relationship that ended our friendship and love with a huge fail. Thou I learned alot thru this experience it still hurts to know we will never be able to try to take it back before it all went wrong. Lifes a struggle thru many things but the people you allow in your life especially in a passionate way should be more aware of wasnt and what could have been. Thou in this we'll never know. I'm ok with the unknown.
