Who's to know if your soul will fade at all
The one you sold to fool the world
You lost your self-esteem along the way
Yeah
Good God you're coming up with reasons
Good God you're dragging it out
Good God it's the changing of the seasons
I feel so raped
So follow me down
And just fake it if you're out of direction
Fake it, if you don't belong here
Fake it, if you feel like infection
Woah you're such a fucking hypocrite
And who's to know that the lies wont hide your flaws
No sense in hiding all of yours
You gave up on your dreams along the way
Yeah
Good God you're coming up with reasons
Good God you're dragging it out
Good God it's the changing of the seasons
I feel so raped
So follow me down [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/seether/fake_it.html ]
And just fake it if you're out of direction
Fake it, if you don't belong here
Fake it, if you feel like infection
Woah you're such a fucking hypocrite
Whoah Whoah
I can fake with the best of anyone
I can fake with the best of 'em all
I can fake with the best of anyone
I can fake it all
Who's to know if your soul will fade at all
The one you sold to fool the world
You lost your self-esteem along the way
Yeah
Good God you're coming up with reasons
Good God you're dragging it out
Good God it's the changing of the seasons
I feel so raped
Man follow me down
And just fake it if you're out of direction
Fake it, if you don't belong here
Fake it, if you feel like infection
Woah you're such a fucking hypocrite
Fake it, if your out of direction
Fake it, if you don't belong here
Fake it, if you feel like infection
Woah your such a fucking hypocrite
Yea it's definitely criticizing it, it's a very cynical view on all the hypocrites and people out there who just fake their entire lives and hope nobody will notice.. One way of looking at it is as well is to compare it with some of his other lyrics (eg. No jesus christ, plastic man, etc) alongside the whole amy-drama and her lyrics about him (eg. Call me when you're sober, lithium, etc) and one could definitely say it seems like they're both bitching about each other in their albums hehe..
Shawn never wrote any songs directly towards amy. He said that he was going to be the bigger man. With that this song is about people who want to be like a particular group so they fake it to get in.
I think he's talkin about his ex amy lee eventhough he mentioned a couple of times he didn't write abot anyone. I guess he was just being the biger man spcially that woman keeps bragging about how she broke up with him and how he was nothing but a bad chapter in her life. Well guess what amy shaun is better off you at least now he is being more creative than before. Rock on seether!!!
Great tune! Not written for the wwe. Shaun morgan (lead singer of seether) hooks up with amy lee (evanescence). They break up... She writes a song... Call me when you're sober... He writes a song... Fake it. Lol... Ain't love grand!
Seether has dominated since this song... I think it's talking about how his girl is lying to him so he's telling her to fake it, like him... Great song...
This song is true if u think about it some many people fake it being a good person or bad peson the act like hypocrite saying oh i am a christian then turn around and don't act like on i no becuz i have a problem some time with this i feel sometime i am not a christian becuz i don't act like it some time but i am
Man i know dat musemonster is 100 % right. Dis song is good but da war between shaun morgan and amy lee they need to let it die and either get back together or fucking ignore each other.
