Green Day J.A.R. lyrics

My friend drove off the other day,
And now he's gone and all they say,
Is you gotta live cause life goes on
But now I see I'm mortal too
I can't live my life like you
Gotta live it up while life goes on

And I think it's alright
That I do what I like cause that's the way I wanna live
And so I give
And I'm still giving
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/green_day/jar.html ]
And now I wonder about my friend
If he gave all he could give
Cause he lived his life like I live mine
If you could see inside my head
Then you'd start to understand
The things I value in my heart

You know that,
I know that,
You're watching me.

Gotta make a plan
Gotta do what's right
Can't run around in circles if you wanna build a life
And I don't wanna make a plan for a day far away
While I'm young and while I'm able all I wanna do is....

You guys are slow. Jason andrew relva was a good freind of the bands, and a better friend to mike. But he sadly died in a car accident, (hence the lyrics, "my friend drove off the other day. ") this song is written by mike dirnt and is the only green day written by him except from the "nobody likes you" part from the song homecoming which is on the american idiot album!

The bands 1st drummer left for college thinking an education was most important to get him set for his future. The band was shocked he left cause that's all they knew and wanted to do. The drummer expected them to wait for him do his thing; that the band was a hobby or second job. They had to continue, it's in their heart, it's their life and air they breath. As they drive forward the drummer watches their successes and struggles with a new member. While they're young and while they're able all they want to do is play.

This song is about a guy who is either talking to or wondering about an old friend. And he's basically saying "so, you left and i realized that life is too short to do nothing or emulate my friends. I'm going to live my own way now, how about you? "
