The bands 1st drummer left for college thinking an education was most important to get him set for his future. The band was shocked he left cause that's all they knew and wanted to do. The drummer expected them to wait for him do his thing; that the band was a hobby or second job. They had to continue, it's in their heart, it's their life and air they breath. As they drive forward the drummer watches their successes and struggles with a new member. While they're young and while they're able all they want to do is play.
this song is about a guy who is either talking to or wondering about an old friend. and he's basically saying "so, you left and i realized that life is too short to do nothing or emulate my friends. i'm going to live my own way now, how about you?"
