For me this song is all about trials in life. There are detours and split trails in our path and whether we like it or not, we have to get thru with these paths. The line "so take the photographs and still frames in your mind" teaches us to appreciate good things that we experience and use it as an inspiration in good and bad times. I agree with the comment posted last dec 1st 2011. No one knows what will happen in the future. The important thing is we fail and from that failure we learn we appreciate and never forget to live your life to the fullest. -tikyo

For me its that things happen in life that we may not be able to explain but they happen for a reason. You cant predict what is going to happen tomorrow, or what any part of the future will bring but you can be sure that every single thing happens for a reason.. And the ultimate meaning is, as long as you had a good life and lived it like you'd never live again then it's all that matters... This was also my leavers song at school so it reminds me of closing chapters of my life and starting new ones :)

I love the meaning of this song because it explains something many people are missing. It is to just live! Everyone is so busy stressing, worrying, complaining and everything that they're missing the chance to just live and enjoy life! You only live once!

Merry meet. I like this song mostly because i picked it for my mum's funeral when i was eleven. Life throws us in the deep end sometimes, trying to tell and teach us the right way to go. We need to stop questioning the things that happen and just accept that sometimes life is going to do something that is completely unexpected. One day, we're all going to wind up dead. That's one of the facts of life. It will happen, you can not stop it. Get used to it and make every second of your life worth being alive. All your memories, dreams, thoughts, bad tattoos, even worse hairstyles and the people you leave behind are what weigh up whether or not your life was worth anyone's time or whether you spent your time alive in vain. Merry part and merry meet again.

Coming out of closet at age 7, i have had five people in which i fell in love, 3 of the 5 since i was 11 i have had 7 to 20 relationships with, i am gay but was betrothed to a woman who just happen to be gay also, and we have been married 20 years this fall. She has lived through all my forks stuckin the road, as i have always followed the path less traveled, and those whom i loved, could not, or i would not let them, follow along with me~therefore the song means exactly what it says, verbatum, bravo bily joe, and kisses tray and yoo no who! Nope... Their "breakthrough" song was actually longview, 3 years prior. And its about his girlfriend who told him she was leaving for the peace corps a few days before, so this is actually a very bitter and pissed off song.
