Green Day – Give Me Novacaine lyrics

Take away the sensation inside
Bitter sweet migraine in my head
It's like a throbbing tooth ache of the mind
I can't take this feeling anymore

Drain the pressure from the swelling,
This sensations overwhelming,
Give me a long kiss goodnight
And everything will be alright
Tell me that I won't feel a thing
So give me Novacaine

Out of body and out of mind
Kiss the demons out of my dreams
I get the funny feeling, that's alright
Jimmy says it's better than air,
I'll tell you what

Drain the pressure from the swelling,
This sensations overwhelming,
Give me a long kiss goodnight
And everything will be alright
Tell me that I won't feel a thing,
So give me Novacaine

Oh Novacaine

Drain the pressure from the swelling,
This sensations overwhelming
Give me a long kiss goodnight
And everything will be alright
Tell me Jimmy I won't feel a thing,
So give me Novacaine

This is the former Hazeldountlovesbullet, under my new name! I'm explaining the American Idiot Musical plot, for anyone following. The last song was Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy. Here, Johnny is still shooting up (obviously. He's an addict.), Tunny is freaking out because he's a soldier now and is scared out of his mind, and Will wants all the mounting pressureof impending parenthood to stop, so he just sits around getting drunk. They're all just screwing up, but Johnny is definately hit the hardest. The next song is Last of The American Girls/Shes a rebel. Its both songs mixed together (I'll explain why), but for this string of explinations, folly me to she's a rebel.

I think this is related to part 1 of homecoming, where it seems that Jimmy is the savior, but in the end kills himself from all the stress. In this song "he" (not Jimmy) is addicted to a drug that is now getting old and useless to him now, he wants something strong, something that will get his mind off what is bothering him, even if it kills him. Jimmy seems to be the only person that could talk or scare him out of doing this to himself. In the end I hope he doesn't do this and gets the help he needs, though we know that's probably not the case.... Most people in this position don't learn until it's to late... I have had to watch some of my best friends do this, some didn't learn until the end.
