This song is just one of the classic green day songs ever made. It was made when they were at there prime. This song and all of dookie were the best material they ever made and this song can serve so many purposes and is extremely touching

Last year my young cousin, age 10, died of a failed liver disease. At her funeral they played this song, and it touched my heart to tears.

This song was on an old, old episode of "er". There was a kid with leukemia and he listened to this song on his walkman. He, of course, died at the end of the episode and as the mother of a child with a terminal illness, it about did me in, but i knew right then that this would be the song for my son when he passed on. Fortunately, it was several years later, but still way too soon and it was his song. "i hope you had the time of your life", and he certainly did.

I love this song... Boulevard of broken dreams was the first green day song i had ever heard, so when i heard this on the radio one summer day, i hought, this sounds like billie joe... And it was! And then my friend learned how to play this on guitar... And he can sing it too. So he played it to me over the phone and i thought, wow, this is that one song... And so now, every time i hear a song that sounds like it could be sung by green day, i see if it is because usually it tells you what song it is and who its by... And if it didn't, i would be really disapointed and find it on youtube :)

I think it is talking about being with a group of people who you can connect with.. For example i went to youth camp and made a lot of new friends and i wont see any of them til next year. It is about reflecting on the good times of your life.
