I think that this song is about how he breaks up with a girl and hes the evil angel speaking in the girls mind.

I think this song is about the mind of a scitzophrenic. The evil angel is the voice i their head tellng them to do awful things when all they really want is to overcome and resist the voice. Btw, i love this song and im a huge breaking benjamin fan!!! Xd

This song, to me, is a song about being decieved in your time of need, like the first verse was saying that hes been following this person all his life but hes slowly starting to realize that this person is full of deciet, like an anti-christ type person. But hes to attached to let go because right now that person's all hes got. The second verse is after he finds out this person is full of lies and he gets pierced in the heart because of all the pretenders, but now, after hes on the verge of breaking down completely, he prays to find a true savior, somebody whocan actually take him out of this misery, so he promises not to give up till he does (don't surrender! Surrender! ) and the chours i think is tieing the whole relationship with the "evil angel" together, asking it face-toface if its a complete lie

Anyway regardless of what ben was thinking when he came up with this, all of his songs are true and deep and i think he will be known as one of the best songwriters of all time

I think that this song is probably about a guy who is sick of facing his demons like people pretending to be his friends when they're not and backstabbers and he's being driven way past his breaking point. Then on day he meets a person who although is also facing faceing his/her [though most probably her] own demons, he believes that she can help him through everything. And his 'saviour' was trying to help him but after a while she/he began having doubts. And he's singing for him/her not to give up and help him.

This song is about some one being betrayed from another person that the speaker thought as their angel that maybe why it keeps saying ‘evil angel’ it seams that it’s asking to taken out of their misery.
