Dance With The Devil lyrics

Breaking Benjamin Dance With The Devil lyrics

Here I stand,
Helpless and left for dead.
Close your eyes,
So many days gone by.
Easy to find what's wrong,
Harder to find what's right.

I believe in you,
I can show you that
I can see right through
All your empty lies.
I won't stay long,
In this world so wrong.

[Chorus]
Say goodbye,
As we dance with
The devil tonight.
Don't you dare look at
Him in the eye,
As we dance with
The devil tonight.
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/b/breaking_benjamin/dance_with_the_devil.html ]
Trembling,
Crawling across my skin.
Feeling your cold, dead eyes,
Stealing the life of mine.

I believe in you,
I can show you that
I can see right through
All your empty lies.
I won't last long,
In this world so wrong.

[Chorus]
Say goodbye,
As we dance with
The devil tonight.
Don't you dare look at
Him in the eye,
As we dance with
The devil tonight.

Hold on,
Hold on.

[Chorus]
Say goodbye,
As we dance with
The devil tonight.
Don't you dare look at
Him in the eye,
As we dance with
The devil tonight.

Hold on,
Hold on.

Every person has that one trait inside them that taunts them and eats away at them. Yet, they enjoy it and make excuses for it. I believe he wrote this song for his drinking and smoking problem. He knew it was something that was wrong, but he did it anyway. Then he goes on to say that together, we can fight our demons/devils inside us. But, it won't be an easy goodbye.

On a note: ben gave up drinking and smoking excessivelly sometime after phobia was released. Guess he found meaning in his own words. True inspiration!

I think the meaning of this song is someone is trying to run away from the sins of the world but we are all just human so there is no escaping the devil and eventually you will be caught up in it.

This song is about trying to control in life, but the devil is going to try hard to make sure you don't change. Hence the words, "don't you dare look at him in the eye. " becuase if you do you will give the devil power over you and you might not want to change.

It's a suicide note, his girlfriend has broken up with him for no reason, hence the empty lies, and he's going to die tonight and go to hell, dance with the devil tonight, and the world sucks (world so wrong)

Amazing song, ironically made me realize that there's life after being crushed.

My take on the overall meaning: i think its about a guy who's doing drugs and he's hella addicted to them, hence 'dance with the devil. '

I think that this song is more of a story. A guy is in love with a girl who is suffering, and in his attempt to save her he is sacrificing his own life. (i can see through all your empty lies. ) & (feeling your cold dead eyes, stealing this life of mine. ) he is giving up himself for the chance that she might make it through.

This song is one of the very inspirational ones that talks about all your bad deeds, in this one i think it is about him repenting on his past sins, like the line "easy to find whats wrong, harder to find whats right" that means like its easy to give in to temptation but its hard to do what you know is right, also the chorus kinda gives me the feeling that he has died in "this world so wrong" and is now in like a crossroad: will he give into sin again or start doing the right thing? And he would choose the good path, but he has to fight his demons in order to go on that path thats were i think the lines "as we dance with the devil tonite, dont you dare look him in the eye, as we dance with the devil tonite" come from, he has to fix his mistakes to become a good person
