I've been walking
In the same way as I did
Missing out
The cracks in the pavement
And tutting my heel
And strutting my feet
"Is there anything
I can do for you dear?
Is there anyone I can call?"
"No and thank you, please Madam
I ain't lost, just wandering"
Round my hometown
Memories are fresh
Round my hometown
Ooh, the people I've met
Are the wonders of my world
Are the wonders of my world
Are the wonders of this world
Are the wonders of my world [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/adele/hometown_glory.html ]
I like it in the city
When the air
Is so thick and opaque
I love to see everybody
In short skirts
Shorts and shades
I like it in the city
When two worlds collide
You get the people
And the government
Everybody taking
Different sides
Shows that
We ain't gonna stand shit
Shows
That we are united
Shows
That we ain't gonna take it
Shows
That we ain't gonna stand shit
Shows that we are united
Round my hometown
Memories are fresh
Round my hometown
Ooh the people I've met
Are the wonders of my world
Are the wonders of my world
Are the wonders of this world
Are the wonders of my world

Its all about adele keeping it real, her roots, her people. Its the defining song from her 1st album, in her own words.

I think it is about... Her hometown and how amazing it was and she misses it. It is a very soft and elegant song.

She's returning to the place where she grew up, probably her home town. "i've been walking in the same way as i did"
she's reliving her memories as she walks through her town. Some notices her and thinks she lost. She response that her wonderment just made her feel lost. She's remembering where she grew up and everyone she met. That they made her what she is today.

Sorrow. Images of closeness. Sadness. Pride. Fearlesness... Belonging.

Hometown doesn`t give the meaning to a place, but to a location where people love you and where you feel totally safe and able to be yourself.

I feel like hometown is not really speaking on a location its based on a human being... A relationship that was the only thing that was known for a while and now that its gone its looks new and weird
