Powerful song! I have recently re-connected with the first girl I ever loved, over 20 years ago. We never really got to end things back then, and we started over again recently. But, as much as she means to me, I can see that we're not going to last. It is hard to look your soul-mate in the eye, and know that you have to leave. Being apart from her is killing me, and as much as I don't want to let go, I know I'm going to have to. I've never gotten over her, but I've moved on while we were apart, and I know that I can't go back to where we were. It's tearing my heart out, but it's probably time to face the fact that I am already gone.
