I like the comment above. I read it as a growing obsession with a celebrity, the big eyed bird. It starts with a star struck fan, and moves into an obsession as he goes from cinematic to sycophantic boy. By the end, he has kidnapped her and is telling her things she doesn’t need to hear. They aren’t friends, so how else would he talk to her?
