I don't understand how you people are seriously pulling any religious connotations out of these lyrics! I'm a somewhat religious person myself, but I'm not about to go around making ludicrous connections to religion, or the Church, or the Bible! The subject of almost *every* sentence in there is "you", and it's singular. It's obviously directed to just one person, and musemonster's explanation is spot-on.
Again "You're no Jesus Christ" simply means you are not perfect, you have serious faults. How can you make any other connections there?
