I think the song is about a girl whos given up on life and takes risky choices... He tells us that she was toxic , " New boy in your hair" and that he is tired of trying to save her thats why the lines -I screamed, "I cannot be your saint, I know you can't be saved"

This song is about a girl who was toxic. Suburban is saying he was always there for her when she needed him, but she wasn’t worth the pain she was causing him. Suburban says “Blood is drying on your fingernails laughing at something I said, were you still behind the stairs with a new boy in your hair” Meaning that after they split up because of her toxicness, She simply went and found another boy. Suburban is known for his ability to be honest and straightforward, and in this song he makes it clear that the relationship wasn’t pleasant. He is often compared to singers like Melanie Martinez.

I believe that this song is about a girl with depression. Sub Urban mentions the 'slashes on her legs' and 'burned her skin instead with the curl', which alludes to self-harm. I think that when Sub Urban screams 'I cannot be your saint, I know you can't be saved' means that he himself is falling apart due to trying to keep her together for so long. He also mentions 'An angel plucked from flight'. This might mean that the girl had been happy, but she started falling from her place in the sky, AKA happiness, and into depression. Sub urban also mentions what may be unhealthy coping skills, like cutting off her hair and messing around with lots of new boys. All together, I think that this song is from the viewpoint of a loved one struggling with mental health.
