This is a love song and a heartbreak song. I've made love to it and also went through a breakup to it.

In the beginning, reflection on a separation or breakup brings the realization that things do have to change to remain together.
It goes on to explain that people are in and out of our lives but sometimes there's that one that makes a difference but its emphasized that this point has been discussed before.

Love is alive and breathing. Love has a heartbeat. Love can change, become stronger or less.
In this case, love became deeper and impacted them to their core. Being in love changed the way this person sees the world and themselves.

This person is ready and wants to be together with their partner. No one knows what the future holds and they are willing to risk the uncertainty. Being in love with this person and having a relationship with this person outweighs the fear of it possibly not working out. They want to go for it. They need to go for it. They're all in.

Its the partner who isn't sure for reasons unknown. Probably the fears many of us face when we've experienced heartbreak and loss. Trust and commitment issues.

In order to grow, you need change in some form or another. A breakup would be painful but eventually you grow from it. Hence, growing pains....
