Probably one of HW’s best vocals delivered on the song. I love it’s simpleness on the surface, but, really it goes 12 feet deep when looking under the surface. Such an easy listen and will take you back to your favorite 90’s spot within those first few bars of the guitar coupled with that sweet voice. The Sundays had so much to say in that seven year span. Wheeler never tried to crush it or overdo it, that’s why you can’t help but to call up that voice when you need that escape. Her delivery was always what it needed to be and was never overbearing, something that was rare in the grunge of the early 90s. What makes The Sundays hold fast to this day, is they just left. Seven years is a long run in the music industry. Their departure, intentional or not, was greatness redefined, as leaving on top of your game (skill-not talking sales) takes humbleness and willingness to let go and really say-goodbye. So, what’s this song about? Some say religion-maybe church. Maybe, but perhaps Wheeler and the rest knew that when it was time they would know and be on their way-this song was a great gift to us long before we knew it-and the group delivers their “goodbye” as it should be, on their own merits.
