Steven Walker – Pied Piper lyrics
I'm not the Pied Piper
But if you follow me
There's at least one thing
That I can guarantee
They'll be lots of candy
And fun things to do
So climb up on a note
And let the music carry you
Away

Let the music carry you away

You're as light as a feather
Floating on the breeze
Sailing 'cross the River Styx
There is nothing that you'll need
Just follow the music
Let the drumbeat be your cue
Strap on your guitar
And let the music carry you
Away

Let the music carry you away

The gods never rested
On the seventh day
When Diablo said
Well let's feed our head
And make something we can play
So they invented guitar
And gave rock'n'roll it's birth
Well those gods of mayhem
When they learned to play 'em
They made Heaven here on Earth

See the write up dated Sept 21, 2018 under Unregistered because that was me. Now I have to fill this space with a minimum of fifty words so I guess its time for me to pay the Piper for screwing up when I entered my original post. I hope that you purchase and enjoy the music of the "Gods Of Mayhem" collection.

Pied Piper is the anchor song that spawned the idea for the concept album, "Gods Of Mayhem." References to the original centuries old Pied Piper story are threaded throughout the entire Mayhem collection. It is written to appear as the omnipotent "creators" disenchanted point of view of humanity. Much like the story of the Pied Piper who was promised payment to rid a city of the rats that ran rampant spreading disease, death and mayhem during the time of the Bubonic plague, and then was cheated out of his reward by the city elders, the "Gods" are looking at their creation (mankind) and find great disappointment in the way people treat each other and the world in which they live. They send an observer (the Piper) to walk among us and decide whether we are worth saving. The last song in the collection (aptly titled "The End") delivers the message that havoc will spread like Armageddon to wipe out humanity for acting in a way that shows no appreciation for the gift of life they were given. Still, as the last note of the last song fades out, there is a hint of hope for those who have lived well. Time to pay the Piper.
