In addition there is to say: He never accepted any bribes. He was the only politician in those ranks who was rocksolid. But they set him up and he got busted. So. He couldn't do anything about it, that's why he shot himself in live tv in a press-conference. It's kinda sad, since he seemed to be a good man - and I guess meeting him would have been an honour in some way.
And! He shot himself to die in-duty. Means his family still get payments - which they need, since he didn't take any bribes. It was a clever move. ;).

Dear people who think this song is about Kurt Cobain, Stop making up ignorance, the internet is full of that as it is.
This song was not only recorded a year before his suicide. But also it's about the on live suicide of politician Budd Dwyer. Also, grimesjon1 in this thread is particularly stupid, please point and laugh at him for me. Thank you :).

Twenty years old when this came out in 1995. Was in a dark club somewhere in Houston at 3am and the DJ had been playing club crap all night. The lights went out, everyone got real quiet and then that menacing bass line began. It was mind-blowingly amazing to hear this track for the first time in a dark room purpose-built built for walls of sound. Twenty years.
