P!nk – Who Knew lyrics
You took my hand
You showed me how
You promised me
You'd be around
Uh huh
That's right
I took your words
And I believed
In everything
You said to me
Yeah huh
That's right

[Chorus: 1]

If someone said three years from now
You'd be long gone
I'd stand up and punch them out
Cause they're all wrong
I know better
'Cause you said forever
And ever
Who knew

Remember when

We were such fools
And so convinced
And just too cool
Oh no,
No no.
I wish I could touch you again
I wish I could still call you a friend
I'd give anything

[Chorus: 2]

When someone said count your blessings now
'fore they're long gone
I guess I just didn't know how
I was all wrong
They knew better
Still you said forever
And ever
Who knew

Yeah yeah
I'll keep you locked in my head
Until we meet again
Until we
Until we meet again
And I won't forget you my friend
What happened

[Chorus: 3]

If someone said three years from now
You'd be long gone
I'd stand up and punch them out
Cause they're all wrong and
That last kiss
I'll cherish
Until we meet again

And time makes
It harder
I wish I could remember

But I keep
Your memory
You visit me in my sleep

My darling

Who knew
My darling
My darling
Who knew
My darling
I miss you
My Darling
Who Knew

Who knew

The song's actually about a girl losing her boyfriend to drugs. He overdoses while he's on a harsh high and she finds him. That's why she says, "I'll keep you locked in my head, until we meet again." and "That last kiss, I'll cherish, until we meet again." And like when she's saying, "If someone said... blah blah blah" it's like, "I never thought you'd be gone." Like, dead. It's a really sad song. Especially if you see the music video.

It's really about when P!nk was on drugs with her best friend at the age of 14. She got caught into it and her friend showed her how to take drugs and when she says "they were all wrong" it means they thought she wouldn't be able to get out of them, but she did. She stopped because one day after school, I think, she walked into her friends house to find her led on the floor dead because of drugs. P!nk says that she has been on drugs but she doesn't like to talk about it much. But yes, she confesses to drugs. It doesn't change who she is though, P!nk is P!nk. On drugs or not, she is still an amazing singer and if people hate her for this, they should know it's not her fault, we all do stupid things in our lives. At least she stopped.

My boyfriend just broke up with me a week ago because he didn't think things would work between us. I've heard this song before and it always made me want to cry a little but when I heard it again just a few minutes ago I just bursted into tears. Especially the part where she sang "still you said forever". My ex said he would love me forever: '(: '(

I think it's about a couple who figured that they would be together forever, and were lost in the throws of young love, although they were truly in love. Then, some force that neither of them could control, took one of them away, and the other is truly hurt. She doesn't know what to do, and she doesn't feel anger, just sadness that she can't be with him. Deep down she knows that she won't see him again, but she is fostering hope anyways, and is incredulous that neither of them, nor anyone else could see this tradgedy coming, thus "Who Knew?"

To me this song is about a person, friend, lover or family member who basically took your hand and showed you ow to do drugs and basically when you realize it's not the way to go you want to get out but not only that you wish to take them with you way from the bad things but they decieded that there addiction is more important then you(or the person singing the song) so asically as tree bugg says drugs are chosen over you reminds me of my friends carlos brandon and cecilia but oh well who knew:/

Whether intended or not - this song is song is on many levels. It can talk of naivete, being in love with love, so that 'ear plugs', like blinders, make one oblivious to the meanings and truth. It can talk of a lover who is also one's best friend. It can talk, simply, of a friend and - friend or lover - of someone that is dead, with 'meeting again' meaning in the after life. It is sad in so many ways and, at the same time, a celebration of the beginning of an awakening. I could say much more, if only I had the time.

This song to the writer Pink said that she dedicated this song to her friend who died and the part in the song where it says 'you visit me in my sleep' is a thing were you actually see a lost family member or friend or somebody you new and you have a little talk with them I can relate this to myself personally as my granda died this earlier year of heart and liver failer and I have had one of these dreams so far and because he also already had muscular dystrophy and he could not walk he was in bed alot and I was siting on the bottom of his bed and he said to me its ok to be alone you don't always need me around don't be upset he also said to me that I was doing good in school and he knows how hard I am trying and even though my grades have started to drop he now the reasons why and he also told me that he loves me so R.I.P granda and I love you to.

You love someone, they said they'd be there for you, forever. Everyone else says not to believe them. But you don't want think they're lying to you, because you love them. You want to count on forever. So you do. And then you find out that everyone else was right, and your love has gone, and you are so shocked, and never even thought about it coming, even though everyone else saw it coming a million miles away.

I dedicate this song to me and my bestfriend. I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. She moved here early last year. We met throu school and we became bestfriends because we got along so well. Id never met anyone like her. Being bestfriends, we promised to be there for eachother forever, uno, just like bestfriends do. She changed me. Not for the good either. Everyone who I'd been to school with noticed the change and told me that her being the type of person she is, that she would someday find someone better than me, and then get rid of me right away. I never believed them. Then it happend.

This song explains everygirl, and the reasons why we make foolish mistakes. Because we never want to believe the worst in the guy who means the world to us. It can't be true what others say, they have been through similar situations, but they don't know right? Not. They share their stories because they no how much it hurts to be decieved by the one you love, and they woul'd want anyone to feel what they did. Guys are so heartless, and I know girls are so innocent either, but either way the pain is hotted at, the bruises and scars are agonizing. Don't ever let yourself if the guy wont hundred and ten percent catch you. Hitting bottom sucks.

I also think it's about a relationship. But I agree that this song pretty versatile, possibly applicable to any relationship. I heard this first from a friend I thought it was her original song cuz she and her bf for 2+ or 3 years just broke up and I thought it's her song for him. But I saw her myspace it said it's a cover song so I searched whose song it originally is. Anyway this is a really great song.
