Owl City – Hospital Flowers lyrics
I survived a dreadful accident,
In the car crash of the century,
My shattered hopes collapsed on cold cement,
But in the back of the ambulance, I'd never felt so content.
A high-speed collision gave a new sense of sight to me,
And now my vision can render the scene,
A blurry image of wreckage and roadside debris,
Happiness returned to me through a grave emergency.
Da da da, da da da,
Da da da, da da da.
I tossed and turned, in sterile apathy,
Until the violets arrived for me,
The bouquet burst and blossoms filled the room,
And the police got smaller as they grew taller,
And taught me to bloom.
A high-speed collision gave a new sense of sight to me,
And now my vision can render the scene,
A blurry image of wreckage and roadside debris,
Happiness returned to me through a grave emergency.
The curtains decayed, the daylight poured in,
I was never afraid, of the darkness again,
My burns were third degree,

But I'd been set free,
'Cause grace had finally found its way to me.
A high-speed collision gave a new sense of sight to me,
And now my vision can render the scene,
A blurry image of wreckage and roadside debris,
Happiness returned to me,
Da da da, da da da,
Happiness returned to me,
Da da da, da da da,
Happiness returned to me,
Through a grave emergency.
Da da da, da da da,
Da da da, da da da,
Through a grave emergency.
Da da da, da da da,
Da da da, da da da,
Happiness returned to me,
Through a grave emergenc

Everything he wanted to be, his dreams, his hope seemed like they were no more as he lay on the cold cement. It could be that he saw god in a near death experience as I have a friend who's nan experienced that. He suddenly realised the flowers growing and he bloomed and accepted god into his life. He realised just how much god and life meant to him in the near-death experience and he became happy knowing that god was with him, helping hiim through. He was no longer afraid. Hope this helps ;) eloise.

This song is disturbing to me for it's upbeat attempt to describe a brush with death, which many do not survive such trauma, so possibly it eventually could become comforting to those involved such an event. When he says "grave emergency" I can hear the parallel with grave (death) and especially when he speaks of the violets and the place got smaller as they grew taller. This, to me, means he was a full code blue and had to be brought back to life which is a very violent event. The boquet burst of violet which fills the room is the electical jolt of defibrillation and as he begins to detatch from his body, he goes into the light (the other side). Anywho, I just am not comfortable with the la's because all involed in helping to save a life are affected. We can only pray that this experience is as peaceful for the person who the song describes and maybe there could be comfort in that.

Metaphorical song about some one receiving salvation. So lost, at rock bottom and then by the grace of god, the free gift of salvation is accepted and happiness returns. "cause grace finally found its way to me". God becomes greater and everything else shrinks and becomes less important "the place got smaller as they grew taller"
finally, "i'd been set free! " how happy to be know your sins are no longer on you, but on jesus christ who gave up his life that you might be free!

Think of a break up as an accident. You're finally happy because it's over. You render the scene or seen what happened in the end. Happiness returns because you're finally happy. The break up is the crash of the century. You think it's over because your hopes collapsed on the ground and nothing matters, but youre content with it and will move on with happiness.

I think someone got in a car crash: p and they lost all hope but when they received violets they realized that someone (god) really cared. " and taught me how to bloom... " they got happy again so that is technically " blooming " because you were very sad and then you got very. Happy: d:) b) " happiness return to me through a grave emergency... ". I don't get that part.
    Koowl song oc:) : p b).
