M.I.A. – Paper Planes lyrics
I fly like paper, get high like planes
If you catch me at the border all da visas in my name
If you come around here, I make 'em all day
I get one dime in a second if you wait

I fly like paper, get high like planes
If you catch me at the border all da visas in my name
If you come around here, I make 'em all day
I get one dime in a second if you wait

Sometimes I been sitting on trains
Every stop I get 'till I'm clocking my game
Everyone's a winner we're making our fame
Bonafide hustler making my name

Sometimes I been sitting on trains
Every stop I get 'till I'm clocking my game
Everyone's a winner we're making our fame
Bonafide hustler making my name

All I wanna do is (Bang bang bang bang!)
And a (Kkkaaaa ching!)
And take ya money

All I wanna do is (Bang bang bang bang!)
And a (Kkkaaaa ching!)
And take ya money

All I wanna do is (Bang bang bang bang!)
And a (Kkkaaaa ching!)
And take ya money

All I wanna do is (Bang bang bang bang!)
And a (Kkkaaaa ching!)

Hollywood skulls and bones
Sticks and stones and weed and bones
Running when we hit 'em
Lethal poison for da system

Sticks and stones and weed and bones
Running when we hit 'em
Lethal poison for da system

No one on the corner has swagga like cuz
Hit me on my banner prepaid wireless
We pack and deliver like ups trucks
Already going hard just pumping that gas

Wow. This is rather intresting. They play this s*t on the radio here in somerset ky like, 5 times a day. I never understood the song until I read these comments. Hell, in a way she sounds like a drug dealer or something in this song. And why in the hell is she called "M.I.A." the person below me here is right, mia means missing in action. Terrible. But the beat and s*t is good. Lyrical content not so much.

You people who think this song is about weed and murder are stupid. Do some research or look at the world. Its about living. Its about the bad s*t that is going on in some third world countries. That's what most of her music is about. Shes trying to get the message out. Its about stuff that most teenagers in america don't have a clue about, and need to learn.

This song promotes terrorism, cos it's sung by a supporter of terrorism itself. I live in Sri Lanka and our country is torn by ltte terrorists for 25yrs. She's a great supporter of their murderous cause. They have been killing innocent civilians and damaging property. They're the only terror group that killed state leaders (make it 2 state leaders). The ones who introduced suicide bombs and car bombs. One of many source of income for them are bribes from tamil illegal immigrants in developed countries. I am not surprised that she sings violent lyrics. That's the nature of terrorism. Mayb she sings about sumthin like that. When robbing from those immigrants.

    M. I. A. Talking about drug smugglers crossing the mexican border, a crisis in America. This song tells the public to be aware of the problems that this country is going through, to get people to think and make opinions. But how the song is written? Though the beat is good, the lyrics are poor at best, since they confuse the listener to the true meaning of the song. If a person reads the lyrics without really studying it, like me when I first found this page, one will misjudge that the purpose of this song is nothing but to talk about weed and getting high.

Well if any of you have seen the move Slum Dog Millionaire then you would know that songs does make sense. It should make you feel bad, not because of the context of it lyrics, but because there are really children out there in countries stricken with poverity and violence, that they are pushed toward this way of life to survive. All the while we sit in our "plush" homes and stay oblivious to whats going on around us in the world. I myself love this song and think it has a powerful message.

No one on the corner has white like us hit me on the banner prepaid wireless we probably can deliver like ups trucks already going forward just pumping that gas. Some I'm gonna murder. Some i"m gonna let go. Some I'm gonna murder. Some I'm gonna let go. Mia third world democracy yeah I got more records than the kgb. So you left on buisness. You already are. This is about the end of the world and the great city babylon who people had to fall down and worship.

Anyone who doesn't think this song is about drugs and money and killing people is nuts. It sounds like children are singing the "all I wanna do is (BANG BANG)" part. If her other songs "spread the word" about how life "really is in some places" then it's a shame this is the song of hers that got popular. If you believe you're "smart" enough to see the "true meaning," great. Honestly, that's terrific. Music is art, I get that. However, what the rest of us hear is what she is actually saying. This song makes me feel shocked, scared, sad, angry. I hate that my little sisters, cousins, and niece have to hear this. The writers, singers, and producers of this song have a huge responcibility to the public as a whole, and they spat on all of us with this song.

Music is about being creative. At first I hated mia's album. But then it grew on me how creative it is. This isn't your usual 'Pop'. Because pop follows simple construction that any drunk can dance to!
Also, you people who go on about war and "hussling and stealing". Your so stupid. Our gouvernments, colonies and history tell us that people at the top steal more than any kid on the street! Recession. Only for the poor!

Ok, first of all - there are no 'good' or 'bad' lyrics, there are those that inpsire you, those that irritate you, those that aggravate you, etc. To me, these do neither, I don't get what her point is. "All I wanna do is shoot people and steal money.." Then she talks about being caught at the border and all the visas being in her name. What you talking about, lady, what's the point of the song?
The funny thing is, she's charming, and my gut feeling is she knows exactly what she's saying. Those of you who hate the song and don't know why, I'll tell you - the girl cannnot carry a tune. Yes, she's no Celine Dion wannabe, but still - she ain't rapping, and most of the notes are off key, sometimes off beat, too.
She somehow reminds me of Missy Elliot, but Elliot is ten times the star she is.
