I believe there are 2 possible meanings to this song. The first and most popular is breaking up which you can here when Chester sings: I don't need you anymore, I don't want to be ignored, I don't need one more day of you wasting me away. The second is about getting over a drug or alcohol addiction which you can here when Chester and Mike sing: What you were changing me into, Just give me myself back and Don't stay.

I believe that this song is about his ex spouse, and how he can't stand the thought of her anymore. He has pure hatred towards her and wishes that she would just forget about all the times they had together. She mentally and emotionally changed who he was and he didn't like who he'd turned out to be afterward. His ex pretty much degraded him and he is saying that he is better off without her and doesn't want her around ever again.

Maybe she was one of those who tracked and hacked his/her phone but he/she knows it and finds humor in it. He/she doesn't need her around anymore, she only brings misery. He/she is saying forget I ever existed, it's called letting go... if you didn't know. Let go forget all the memories, nightmares JUST PLEASE FORGET EVERYTHING cause she is no longer desirable in any way, my opinion but I truly believe that's the meaning of this song.

Sounds like one in the relationship is longing for freedom, needs to breathe. Probably fell out of love years ago when lost trust or something. The other one is probably doing a lot behind his/her back and he/ she wants her to go and never see him/ her again. I don't think she is the same person as to when they met. They were probably so miserable in each others presence that when they parted they both felt so much relief. At least it wont really hurt other than making the change, not like they had anything special in years it seems.
