Josh Groban – On Eagles Wings lyrics
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord, "My Refuge,
My Rock in Whom I trust."

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
And famine will bring you no fear;
Under His Wings your refuge,
His faithfulness your shield.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
You need not fear the terror of the night,
Nor the arrow that flies by day,
Though thousands fall about you,
Near you it shall not come.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
For to His angels He's given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways,
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

I have done the music for a foster kids camp for abused foster kids. Yesterday I finished my tenth year of doing this. At the end of each meeting I play this song on the PA system. Yesterday morning, one of the young female campers reported that she saw five angels on our stage. The counselor came and told me about her story. I was shocked, and said that I believe the girl because something happened to me two days earlier on that stage that I did not intend to tell anyone about. As the children left with the adults, I let the last notes of this song play out so I could pause the CD player. After the last notes were done, "and hold you in the palm of his hand." I was about to push stop when I heard an additional long harmony note coming from across the stage. I turned around to look and no one was there with me. The harmony sounded like anglers, but I blew it off as being tired. I cried when I heard her story. I am a male, ex-police officer. I know what I heard. Needless to say, I believe the song means God's angels will minister to us and carry us. This is humbleing to know his love and compassion towards us.

I hit yet another one of those "low spots" and was feeling like all was lost. It was 3:30 in the morning, and I had been awakened from a restless sleep. I started talking to God in honesty about me. Suddenly this song came to mind. Not remembering all the words, I pulled it up from the internet on my iPad. As I sang through the words, my hea4t was warmed and encouraged. My outlook changed from despair to hope knowing that He is with me and will help me to overcome the obstacles I face. I am so thankful for this song.

My wife’s best friend pass away yesterday. They had been friends for 45 years. She had been battling MS for many years. She was my hero, fighting till the end. What a amazing women, wife, mother, sister and friend. Upon hearing of her passing I thought of this song for my wife as she said, her life had just become smaller today. This song brings comfort and she is in the hands of God.

This song was sung at my sons funeral mass. He passed on November 30, 2014, in our home. He had lost his battle of kidney cancer stsge 4. We cared for him for four months. He was single dad. On November 17, 2014, we celebrated his 44th birthday. Many of his childhood friends, coworkers, and family were there. Every time we sing this song in church brings tears to my eyes. I think my son would have approved of this song. I go to the cemetery and play it to him. I love this song so much.

This song is for the believer who dwells in the shelter of the Lord. Gods faithfulness reassures us our safety in Him. It's a song sang to the person who just left us. Nostalgic and filled with hope. A song that lingers in the soul when we think of that person who departed. It consoles us and let us know that our loved one is hidden in His hands and that you too can let him/her go.
I invite anyone here to call on Jesus, repent of sin, and ask Him to draw close to you. His merci endures for ever and His peace surpasses all understanding. Invite Him into your house, your heart, your temple and He will never leave you nor forsake you ❤️
