Five For Fighting – 100 Years lyrics

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the waves to where you are

I'm 22 for a moment
And she feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose

15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind

I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star

15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

Half time goes by
Suddenly you're wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...

I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you're on your way
Every day's a new day...

Ooh, ooh...

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

I love this song because it makes you stop and think of how life flies by, which is why you should cherish every year of your youth, because if you don't, you'll find yourself at an old age looking back and wishing for the days of your youth. The song just makes so much sense, and the sound of the song just sounds like longing for the days of innocence and youth. It gets sad when he's at 99 in the song, and is dying for another moment before he dies.

This song means a great deal to me, because I was in an original play called "Ruckus" which featured this song. The Master of Ceremonies in our play sings this song to my character (appropriately named Fifteen) before he dies (presumably of old age) as he dances with ghostly figures. Pure beauty, and the song certainly doesn't hurt things. It got my character in the show back on track, and every time I hear it I get teary eyed thinking of all the emotion my friend put into it. Such a beautiful song with a great message about life. I will always feel sentimental towards it.

If you let life go by and hold onto grudges then what are you really even living for? You're gonna die some day and that's inevitable so why not make it the best 100 years. A full life is only around 100 years and most people don't even make it that far. You are going to look back and be like why didn't I say something, or why didn't I just apologize. Don't live with regrets. Go for it. I know 100 years seems like a lot but it isn't. My brother died 2 years ago when he was only 7 months old. You never know when you'll pass on so love like it's your last day and make your life the greatest!
