Barney – And The Green Grass Grows All Around lyrics
There was a hole,
In the middle of the ground
.
The prettiest hole,
That you ever did see.

And the hole in the ground,
And the green grass grows all around, all around,
And the green grass grows all around.

And in this hole,
There was a tree.
The prettiest tree,
That you ever did see.

And the tree in the hole,
And the hole in the ground,
And the green grass grows all around, all around,
And the green grass grows all around.

And on this tree,
There was a branch.
The prettiest branch,
That you ever did see.

And the branch on the tree,
And the tree in the hole,
And the hole in the ground,
And the green grass grows all around, all around,
And the green grass grows all around.

And on this branch,
There was a nest.
The prettiest nest,
That you ever did see.

And the nest on the branch,
And the branch on the tree,
And the tree in the hole,
And the hole in the ground,
And the green grass grows all around, all around,
And the green grass grows all around.

And in this nest,
There was an egg.
The prettiest egg,
That you ever did see.

And the egg in the nest,
And the nest on the branch,
And the branch on the tree,
And the tree in the hole,
And the hole in the ground,
And the green grass grows all around, all around,
And the green grass grows all around.

And in this egg,
There was a bird.
The prettiest bird,
That you ever did see.

And the bird in the egg,
And the egg in the nest,
And the nest on the branch,
And the branch on the tree,
And the tree in the hole,
And the hole in the ground,
And the green grass grows all around, all around,
And the green grass grows all around.

This song has a lot to tell about it. When I was a little kid I used to watch Barney all the time this song has been one of my favorites when I was a little kid. So the meaning of the song is that a hole begins the growth with grass all around the hole. Then the seed gets planted into the hole till one day it becomes a tree. Remember how growth was apart of the grass well the branches start to take shape of the tree. Eventually there would be a nest on the tree and it would be habitable to a family of birds which later finds an egg in the nest. The final step to growth is to keep the egg warm and eventually the egg hatches into a baby bird. This is what the song means to me seeing that everything has time to grow from one thing to another eventually repeating the cycle for next spring.
