    I think its about being in love with love, inclusive every yerning, believing its just around the corner. Its about fear to commit to anyone lest of all ourselves. Moving close, wanting yet running when its near. From a distance everything appears safe and we go the distance in style we put up fronts not truths, so thus the heart break. In a while when the hurt fades we dare to dream and hope again. Hopeless romantics.

    2 drifters off to see the world. Beautiful lyrics. Also from what I've read, the huckleberry friend was the lyricists childhood friend. They would pick huckleberries down by the river in Georgia. This is a beautiful song that I had not thought of in maybe 50 years when suddenly I had a dream and this song appeared in that dream.

    The song reminds me of one unique univocal moment of justice and freedom and a specific moment, a moment I use not to reflect on our egocentric distorted self imagry and rather focus on the thought and the acceptance to be one with the universe, even if it is just a glimpse in time and space, but when I hear this song I cannot help to get goose-bumbs and tears build up and it often makes me swallow hard, when thinking of the uncopromising errors of mankind. And then my mind drifts with the rythym of the music in a world of temperance, a moment of tranquility, a moment worthy to die in peaceful slumber and dream.

    The love of his life is like a free spirited river, he pursues this free spirited woman with his own unique way. They both are alike in a manner of speaking, taking unfamiliar paths compared to the set rules of society and life; and yet after the same things-simple joys and at the end they hope to share these wonders together! It could be crap what I said, but to me that is what moon river signifies!

    "2 drifters off to see the world" I've heard the 2 drifters are Hepburn and the river. In the song if you think life when the word river appears it then makes it a more universal song for everyone. "Moon River wider than a mile I'm crossing you in style" There is so much to life but I will not let it get me down, I will go through it in style in the good times and the bad. "Dreammaker you heartbreaker wherever your going I'm going your way" I will go on with my life in good times and bad times and accept wherever life takes me. "Same rainbows end" = to die a good death and rest in peace.

    Moon river could be a time, a person, a previous state of mind or way of living remembered as they originally were. It could be anything that felt like home or remembered fondly as home. It could be someone whom we shared life and love with. People from the past , places , feelings and sentiments we already seemingly learned not to mention or remember but definitely still and never will be forgotten. Moon river symbolizes the days we lived as our previous younger more innocent selves . Days with lingering lasting moments of laughter, embraces we gathered and kept, kindness we were given . Memories vivid and lush ,treasured and missed. It is everything and anything we choose to remember fondy, forever as we go through life .

    Reminds me of when my wife and I Immigrated to North America in the 1957. Were a couple of kids just married out for adventure. Very little money no job and wanted to see the world. Boarded a boat in South Hamton England. I sadly think about our venture when I hear Moonriver, because the river was the Atlantic ocean to us. Yes, we where off to see the world, dear memories with tears brought back listening to Moon River

    Moon River is to discribe 'A distance' between she and love of her life. (moon river wider than a mile). There's some problems in their relationship. Maybe somekind of friendzone relationship cause of the situation not able yet for them. But actually she and her love have the same dreams, hoping they're both will be togather as one someday. They're both just waiting for the right time, waiting for the Moment. Waiting for their fate. (huckleberry friend - moon river- and me).

    I think if we sit and close ourf eyes and listen to moon river, it will take us to a place where live was carefree. It is a beautiful song, andx I am sure it has a special meaning to all of us in our own special way. It is a beautiful wedding song. When I recently heard it on dwts, I felt like I was on a ballroom floor dancing with my boyfriend under the moonlight overlooking the moon river; how romantic is that.
