I'm no leader
I'm just a mess
It's not the way it's supposed to be
It's just the way it is
I'm afraid we're all victims here
And I'm the one whose in charge
I've lead us all astray again
Oh, how the plot thickens
Are we too far gone 2X
We always assume the worst 2X
I'm afraid no one's listening anymore
I'm freaking out
I'm so sick
I'm making me sick
Don't look down 2X [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/u/underoath/anyone_can_dig_a_hole_but_it_takes_a_real_man_to_call_it_home.html ]
The only thing in my way is myself
I'm just thinking out loud, I'm just thinking
How can I still be alive
I shoulda been gone so long, so long ago
I can't get away from it all
I messed up like I always do
I gave you nothing
I took you nowhere
You're still listening
I gave you nothing
I took you nowhere
You're still listening
The world around me
Has taken a turn for the worst
I'm left alone
Climbing to the top
Should I jump, should I stay
Can I make another day
Should I jump, should I stay
I think that this song is about how god put him in a position where he was to help other people, then he ended up screwing it up, he feels very bad in the end and asks for forgivness
This song seems to be talking about how people trusted him as a leader and he let them down. It then talks of how he lived his life for himself, and it made him sick. Near the end, it seems to indicate that suicide was considered, but, by seeing that he was the one who was wrong and asking god for forgiveness, he can survive and get through life.
