(Mark Alan Springer)

She's fifteen and he's barely driving a car
She's got his ring and he's got the keys to her heart
It's just matter of time
They'll spread their wings and fly

Like two sparrows in a hurricane
Trying to find their way
With a head full of dreams
And faith that can move anything
They've heard it's all uphill
But all they know is how they feel
The world says they'll never make it, love says they will

There's a baby crying and one more on the way
There's a wolf at the door with a big stack of bills
They can't pay
The clouds are dark and the wind is high
But they can see the other side

Like two sparrows in a hurricane
Trying to find their way
With a head full of dreams
And faith that can move anything
They've heard it's all uphill
But all they know is how they feel
The world says they'll never make it, love says they will

She's eighty-three and he's barely driving a car
She's got his ring and he's got the key to her heart
It's just a matter of time
They'll spread their wings and fly

Like two sparrows in a hurricane
Trying to find their way
With a head full of dreams
And faith that can move anything
They've heard it's all uphill
But all they know is how they feel
The world says they'll never make it, love says they will

Sounds like my marriage. My wife and i got married on july 20 1972.that was her 16th birthday and i had just turned 18. This year we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary. I play guitar and sing a little so im going to take her to a community jam session party on our anniversary and sing her this song on stage.

They are so young and in love; and because of their love and faith, they "make it. " i believe the final chorus that follows the last verse--she's 83 and he's barely driving a car--signifies when they go to heaven... They'll "spread their wings and fly" and be there together as well. Reminded me of the ending to "the notebook. "

To people how are so in love nothing will tear them apart. And they will keep moving forward even when the world says they will never make it

I was with someone who everyone said it never would work. I could have believed that too since he did do some awful things. But i never gave up, i loved unconditionally and we are here today married six years. All circumstances pointed to never making it but i had faith and it truly is a miracle at the man i have today! :) thank you god!

I wish you luck and happiness. Me and my 16 year old boyfriend have been together since 1974... Married for 34 years. It's all up hill but you can do it. It is called commitment. I was 15 and he was barely driving a car... I love this song.
