Barbarisms by Barbaras
With pointed heels
Victorious victories kneel
For brand new spankin' deals
Marching forward hypocritic and
Hypnotic computers
You depend on our protection
Yet you feed us lies from the tablecloth
La la la la la la ooooooo
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Kneeling roses disappearing into
Moses' dry mouth
Breaking into Fort Knox stealing
Our intentions
Hangers sitting dripped in oil
Crying freedom
Handed to obsoletion
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth
La la la la la la oooooooo
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Blast off
It's party time
And we don't live in a fascist nation
Blast off
It's party time
And where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you? [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/system_of_a_down/byob.html ]
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Kneeling roses disappearing into
Moses' dry mouth
Breaking into Fort Knox stealing
Our intentions
Hangers sitting dripped in oil
Crying freedom
Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth
La la la la la la ooooooo
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sun...
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
They always send the poor
They always send the poor
The song is obviously commited to revealing the president(s) as a coward who would rather use people's need for money (the poor) in order to calm or to end the threats in the world. The porr are suffering because they need to, not because they want to. Nobody in the right mind wants to kill another human being. The president is one of those people, so he gets somebody else to do it for him/her... System of a down is awesome!
Its bring your own bombs... It kinda gives it away in the song if you actually listened its about war and telling how the president wont help the cause... Oh and also i dont care what you vote this is what i think its about and no one can change my mind

Heres what i think about the meaning of this song
I fookin love system of a down
The line "victorious, victorious, kneel. For brand new spanking deals" is about the u. S. Government trying to persuade people to join the army through propaganda. "you will be victorious" and "brand new spanking deals" is the deals they offer soldiers, such as paying for education. This is reinforced by "everybody's going to the party have a real good time. Dancing in the desert soaking up the sunshine" which once again is propaganda. The war in iraq (desert storm) is a big party! Everyone come and have a good time! B. Y. O. B. Probably doesn't stand for "bring your own bombs", but related to the party theme. B. Y. O. B. Is the catch. "there is an awesome party in iraq! Come to the party. But once you're there we won't support you". Then there is the obvious stuff like "why do we always send the poor? " which is just saying that the politicians are happy to start wars, as long as it isn't them dying for the country. It's like the old saying "war is old men talking and young men dying". The "hypnotic computers" are soldiers. Programmed to fight. "breaking into fort knox" is just a reference to the massive cost of the war. "dripped in oil crying freedom" is a reference to the oil, which was the main reason for invading iraq. There are plenty of countries with dictators in them, much of them far worse than hussein. Egypt is a good example. America was allied with egypt for a long time, right up until the public knew what was going on there. Iraq had oil. The u. S. Gas guzzlers needed fuel. They try to invade with the excuse of 'weapons of mass destruction', but iraq had none. So they just focused on hussein. The whole 9/11 bin laden thing is full of holes too. But even then, is it really legit to invade a country because one group from the country was aggressive? "and we don't live in a fascist nation? "
This song is certainly about anti-war sentiments with regard to deposing saddam hussein and remaining in iraq for years. It's also about allegations that america's involvement is primarily about obtaining oil.

We are all poor... Only presidents, dictators, and tyrants are 'safe' - all they have to do is continue feeding us lies and half truths. Maybe byob means "bring your own bombs" or maybe it means "bring your own bodies" as rodents sit around plotting their wars with each other as a way to control everyone.

I think it is about not being controled by other people and not being lied to.
Its more of a politically viewed song explaining how our military/government system today is more of a one person choice type of thing. Due to the lyric "why dont presidents fight the war, why do they always send the poor" saying how the president always drafts people in need of support money to go and fight when they most likely wont come back. Its dissing our military system and it's selfishness.

I am a great fan of soad & i love this song.. This is a real masterpiece... Their music is so different from the other singers and they rock lots... Soad you're really awesome ^-^
The band is always clear with its vision. The lyrics are always heavy & straight. Odadjian, malakian, tankian, & dolmayan are genius. They created this genre. The music is well architect-ed & a thrusting lyrics. I like listening to any soad songs. & this one is a masterpiece. Hope they'll still produce more music & keep it metal.
What i like in soad is that they all versatile and flexible. They already wrote a song about politics, life, earth and environment, anything and anything. All songs are very meaningful. Listeners' conciousness runs out from their body and makes them hunger for their new songs.
This song is the greatest(: just like the other songs, they have hidden meaning about life and how it really is, not about how many girls they have screwed like the music that artist are trying to feed into our minds... Its time for truth! Go sod(:
