Feeling like a refugee
Like it don't belong to me
The colors flash across the sky

This air feels strange to me
Feeling like a tragedy
I take a deep breath and close my eyes
One last time
One last time

Storms on the wasteland
Dark clouds on the plains again
We were born into the fight

But I'm not sentimental
This skin and bones is a rental
And no one makes it out alive

Yeah

Until I die I'll sing these songs
On the shores of Babylon
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

Where the weak are finally strong
Where the righteous right the wrongs
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

Yeah

Feels like we're just waiting, waiting
While are hearts are just breaking, breaking
Feels like we've been fighting against the tide

I wanna see the earth start shaking
I wanna see a generation
Finally waking up inside

Yeah

Until I die I'll sing these songs
On the shores of Babylon
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

Where the weak are finally strong
Where the righteous right the wrongs
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

A world where I belong

This body's not my own
This world is not my own
But I still can hear the sound
Of my heart beating out
So let's go boys, sing it loud

And on the final day I die
I want to hold my head up high
I want to tell You that I tried
To live it like a song

And when I reach the other side
I want to look You in the eye
And know that I've arrived
In a world where I belong

In a world where I belong
In a world where I belong
Where I belong
Where I belong

Where I belong
Yeah
Where I belong
Yeah!

I still believe we can live forever
You and I we begin forever now
Forever now
Forever
I still believe in us together
You and I we're here together now
Together now
Forever now
Forever now
Forever now

Forever
Forever

He writes the song in "babylon" - which was where the jews were sent into exile. It is a place god's people don't belong. They are there temporarily because of their own sin and the brokenness of the world. This is a song of christian longing for the kingdom of god to come. That is the only world where a follower of jesus really belongs. That's why he writes about how temporary this world is, how he is not clinging to it, and how he waits through it's ugly parts looking for and living for that future world where he really belongs

This song is so powerful in that no matter how hard you try to make this world here your own, it can never be! All of us one day will get to see the face of god and one day he will tell us all either well done my good and faithful servant or depart from me i never knew you. So this song is stressing live for the eternal and for god's kingdom instead of living a selfish life on earth where moth and rust destroy

My sole-mate / ex-girlfriend of 2010-2011, ivanna bogarowskii broke my heart after we connected with divine intervention and left me hurting. I relate to this song, because it gives me hope that if not here on earth, that someday somewhere some how we will have a chance to smile at each other again and maybe she will be able to go with her feelings of love that she had for me and forget about all the materialistic things she wanted that i didn't have and we can share the love we both thought was divine and out of this world, here on earth. - gary

This is a no brainner! This song is about dying and and finally arriving in the 'world where i belong'. Underlying this is a longing to finally be able to pass from this wold full of problems and to finally meet jesus face to face and know that you need not worry any more.
