Slipknot – Before I Forget lyrics

Go!

Stapled shut, inside and ouside would and I'm
Sealed in tight, bizarre but right at home
Claustrophobic, closing in and I'm
Catostrophic, not again
I'm smeared across the page, and doused in gasoline
I wear you like a stain, yet I'm the one who's obscene
Catch me up on all your sordid little insurrections,
I've got no time to lose, and I'm just caught up in all the cattle

Fray the strings
Throw the sheathes
Hold your breath
And listen!

I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that!

I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that!

I'm ripped across the ditch, and settled in the dirt and I'm
I wear you like a stitch, yet I'm the one who's hurt
Pay attention to your twisted little indiscrestions
I've got no right to way, I'm just caught up all the battles

Locked in clutch
Pushed in place
Hold your breath
And listen!

I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that!

I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that!

My end
It justifies my means
All I ever do is delay
My every attempt to evade
The end of the road is my end
It justifies my means
All I ever do is delay
My every attempt to evade
The end of the road!

I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that!

I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that!

(2x)
I am a world before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
Before I forget that!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh!

This is one of the best Slipknot song's in their catalogue
I think the song is about the band and the fans, that they don't want to stop doing what they love, making music for the fans, and that they (Slipknot) are not bigger than the fans, regardless of their fame.
The 'the end of the road' part of the song makes me feel like they don't want to stop making music and they just want to please the fans for as long as they possibly can.
    Just my opinion though.

The albums throwback to regrets. It's about in trying to make themsleves known they lost a little of themselves in sheer professionalism. Also, I think is about how corey was still so young and confused when they and him where thrown into their own little spotlight. And he is saying that he never really had a chance to work things out with himself and he won't forget that. Even though the face he wears onstage was spawned faster than he was inside. And that all the choices he makes determine how his life is and he tries to avoid the stopping point. He wants to keep on going.

Well I don't think you have the right to decide who is a fan and who isn't. Okay, what about this? When I was younger, I loved Slipknot. I was 6, and my parents hated them. So they decided to only allow me to listen to one song (Wait and Bleed). I Soon learned every last word of the entire song. I would listen to the song day and night, and even tell random "grown-ups" to listen to them. I believe that since you are ridiculing people you don't even know, that makes you the poser. Being a true fan is not listening to all of the songs, it is understanding and enjoying the songs you listen to.
