Bury all your secrets in my skin,
Come away with innocence, and leave me with my sins
The air around me still feels like a cage,
And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again...

So if you love me,
Let me go,
And run away before I know,
My heart is just to dark to care,
I can't destroy what isn't there,
Deliver me into my fate- if I'm alone I cannot hate,
I don't deserve to have you...
My smile was taken long ago/if I can change I hope I never know,

I still press your letters to my lips,
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss,
I couldn't face a life without your light,
But all of that was ripped apart... when you refused to fight,

So save your breath. I will not hear. I think I made it very clear,
You couldn't hate enough to love. Is that supposed to be enough?
I only wish you wern't my friend. Then I could hurt you in the end.
I never claimed to be a saint...
My hope was banished long ago/it took the death of hope to let you go,

So break yourself against my stones,
And spit your pity in my soul,
You never needed any help,
You sold me out to save yourself,
And I wont listen to your shame,
You ran away-you're all the same,
Angels lie to keep control...
My love was punished long ago,
If you still care don't ever let me know,
If you still care don't ever let me know...

i agree with 666chick, anyone who knows the story of Corey Taylor would agree that this song is pretty much autobiographical, going back to the night in 2005(if i remember correctly) when his wife and friend talked him down off a ledge in a hotel. I think this song describes drug addiction and those around the person trying to save them. I love this song and think that this song will help alot of people along the way. Too many people look at Slipknot as a joke and say they suck, but they dont reaalize the impact they have on us fans! only the 9-headed beast known as Slipknot would ever care to understand us maggots.

Slipknot is amazing don't get me wrong i love them but...i gotta say that this and probably there whole All Hope Is Gone cd is to mainstream...Only a few screaming songs and a whole buncha soft ones...whatever happened to songs like The Heretic Anthem, Eyeless, Everything Ends, and I am Hated...I jus wish they would go back underground...and i don't mean pussy metal...i mean hard core to tha bone gangsta rap-core/horror core screaming in tha mic metal...

This is such a great song.. I can listen to it over and over and no matter what I always tear up and / or cry... To me the song is about someone who has a hard time loving and was hurt badly in the past. Now he loves someone, a friend, so much but for whatever reason that friend loves him but may or may not be in love with him but isn't willing to do what it takes to really be with him. No matter what she says , she cant make him feel better about not being with him. So he is trying to give her up and it hurts so badly that no matter what she might say to make him feel better it won't. He doesn't want to hear how she feels or why she wont try. To him it is easier to move on by believing that she doesn't love him and is just like everyone who hurt him in the past. That is what I get from it anyway, but I am currently in that type of situation so as is with human nature we hear something and find relation to what is going on in our lives.

i don't think there's a person out there who hasn't experienced what this song is all about and if you haven't, you haven't lived. i do miss the super hard slipknot but sometimes you just don't want to be super angry and you have to respect an artist for that. i love EVERYTHING slipknot does. i only wish this song had come out sooner like almost a decade ago, because that's where i was in my life.

its about a guy who undoubtedly loved this girl, who did nothing but lie and hurt him, but made things seem alright. when he realized that all she did was lie and create a monstrosity of a relationship, he loved her to much to leave her, so he is asking her to leave him without him knowing so he would not be able to chase her down and try to change things... he just wanted it all to end...
