So nice to see your face again
Tell me how long has it been
Since you've been here
(Since you've been here)
You look so different than before
You're still the person I adore
Frozen with fear
All out of love but I take it from the past
All out of words cause I'm sure it'll ever last

I've been saving these last words for one last miracle
But now I'm not sure
I can't save you if you don't let me
You just get me like I've never been gotten before

Maybe it's a bitter wind
That chilled from the pacific rim
That brought you this way
(Brought you my way)
Do not make me think of him
The way he touched your fragile skin
That haunts me every day
I'm out of love but I can't forget the past
I'm out of words but I'm sure it'll ever last

I've been saving these last words for one last miracle
But now I'm not sure
I can't save you if you don't let me
You just get me like I've never been gotten before
Like I've never been gotten before

Slash Solo

So nice to see your face again
But tell me will this ever end
Don't disappear

I've been saving these last words for one last miracle
But now I'm not sure
And I can't save you if you don't let me
You just get me like I've never been gotten before
Like I've never been gotten before

I think the first verse is about a man who meets again with his past girlfriend, she broke up with him, and he's not over her, and when he sees her now he realizes nothing has changed, but he still has doubt about her as he is afraid history will repeat itself ("it'll never last"). In the second verse they're back together (as she was "brought his way") but he just can't seem to put his faith in it, a consequence of what happened before (he can't forget the past). It may be she cheated on him or moved on to someone else and he just wasn't ready to deal with that. Then in the mini-verse he says he has doubts that she is still with him, but he wishes he's wrong. So it's a song that presents a broken-hearted manwho was hurt by this women before and now he fears it'll happen again.

A third party who's watched the girl he loves fall into bad relationships, but couldn't help her, and now is trying to explain his feelings
    it's bittersweet

Someone lost love and thought the feelings were gone. Then they come across the person and are amazed that all those feelings still burn in every part of their being. Maybe the thought of this encounter not lasting and going through the hurt all over again is scary, but not enough to pass on this chance.
