Show me how to lie
You're getting better all the time
And turning all against the one
Is an art that's hard to teach
Another clever word
Sets off an unsuspecting herd
And as you step back into line
A mob jumps to their feet

Now dance, fucker, dance
Man, he never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

And now you steal away
Take him out today
Nice work you did
You're gonna go far, kid

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

Slowly out of line
And drifting closer in your sights
So play it out I'm wide awake
It's a scene about me
There's something in your way
And now someone is gonna pay
And if you can't get what you want
Well it's all because of me

Now dance, fucker, dance
Man, I never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

And now you'll lead the way
Show the light of day
Nice work you did
You're gonna go far, kid
Trust, deceived!

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

Now dance, fucker, dance
He never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

So dance, fucker, dance
I never had a chance
It was really only you

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

Clever alibis
Lord of the flies
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

    The meaning of the song!
This song was obviously inspired by the book "lord of the flies", I noticed it because my band covers the song and I have to read the book for school.
    Then
I noticed the verse "clever alabies, lord of the flies" and boom I made the connectipn
the storys about a bunch of kids on an island
    any way.
Dance fucker dance man he never had a chance
(they do a dance on the island and kill one of the boys)
and no one even knew it was really only you
(they killed the 'beast' but it was really thier friend)
steal the way take him out today
(jack steals power and kills simon)
nice work you did, your gonna go far kid
(the childrens power postions will carry them far) "kid"
with a thousand lies and a good disgise
(the savages where paint to free themselfs from rules)
hit em right between the eyes
(hunting the pigs and eventually other kids)
when you walk away nothing more to say
(jack leaves to form his own tribe)
see the lightning in ytour eyes. Ect
(they went crazy in the storm).

Anyone that reads this book will know what I'm talking about and you can visit my band page myspace. Com / strapadobluff
    to talk if you disagree.

This song kicks ass and so does the book so that was a cool connection yeah.

I watched the music video for it and listened to the song and tried to put it together. It's about a boy who didn't have much and was granted the power to make people happy and dance but he soon used that power the wrong way and there for, had it taken away. Whoever gave him the power thought he was going to go far but once they saw what he was doing. They took the power back (just a theory guys.)

Just because they mention "lord of the flies" doesn't mean it has to be about the book. The lord of flies is beelzebub/satan in the new testament.
Beelzebub is known as the betrayer in several religions, so the song could simply be about betrayal. It's a stretch, but is still possible.

I think its about a great person's son, as said in the title. Maybe the parent wanted the kid to be great too, but the child became corrupted and took on a new mentor, but this person was evil, and now, maybe the great person is a president, and he has all those important people, the kid is strking at all those important people, but then turns on the new mentor. Wow... I surprise myself sometimes...

Okay, guys, I seriously doubt it's specifically about lord of the flies. The concept of someone lying and manipulating the people around them applies to so many things. The fact that lord of the flies is so old the copyright has likely been renewed, makes it an easily identified example. As for the meaning, well, there you have it. It's about someone who constantly lies and deceives, and uses those tactics to get what they desire. The person singing in the song even states that at one point the subject did it to him.
