Lay beside me, tell me what they've done
Speak the words I want to hear
To make my demons run
The door is locked now, but it's open if you're true
If you can understand the me
Then, I can understand the you
Lay beside me, under wicked sky
Through black of day, dark of night
We share this paralyze
The door cracks open
But there's no sun shining through
Black heart scarring darker still
But there's no sun shining through
No, there's no sun shining through
No, there's no sun shining...
What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn to stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you?
Yeah!
What I've felt, what I've known
Sick and tired, I stand alone
Could you be there?
'Cause I'm the one who waits for you
Or are you unforgiven, too?
Come lay beside me
This won't hurt, I swear
She loves me not, she loves me still
But she'll never love again
She lay beside me
But she'll be there when I'm gone
Black heart scarring darker still [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/m/metallica/unforgiven_2.html ]
Yes, she'll be there when I'm gone
Yes, she'll be there when I'm gone
Dead sure she'll be there...
What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn to stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you?
Yeah!
What I've felt, what I've known
Sick and tired, I stand alone
Could you be there?
'Cause I'm the one who waits for you
Or are you unforgiven, too?
(Solo)
Lay beside me, tell me what I've done
The door is closed
So are your eyes
But now I see the sun
Now I see the sun
Yes, now I see it!
What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn to stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you?
Yeah!
What I've felt, what I've known
So sick and tired I stand alone
Could you be there?
'Cause I'm the one who waits...
The one who waits for you, oh!
What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn to stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you? (So I dub thee unforgiven)
Oh!
What I've felt, oh, what I've known
I take this key
And I bury it in you
Because you're unforgiven, too.
I reckon this song is started just after the end of the unforgiven,in the unforgiven stated condition of a catastrophic human who struggled in this cruel world. His torrid time ended with his death. Then the unforgiven ii commence. It describes about the judgement day, where that bitter man is in a conversation with god. God asked to mention the experiences of that man which he had while passing his miserable life. He stated how he dictate by the bizarre, brutal rules®ulation of the world consequently he become a part of that brutal world and drowned himself to sins. But god reluctant to forgive him for his flurry of sins. That's why
He is saying to his god ... "or are you unforgiven too"
Love this song!!! Yeahhh!!!

Ya it probly is about james but it shows that you gotta let things go or else you'll never see the sun your world will be crushed unless you let things go in other words shit happens you gotta move on
On one level, this speaks of gothic romance. The feelings of affection seem to be blended with the dark, bleak imagery.
However, the strongest message that seems to come through is one of distrust, probably as a result of some traumatic past experience. It's as if there's a certain mental barrier preventing this person from connecting with others in an intimate way.
I think this stone talks about when you think that someone can't hurt you it's to good, but then she hurt like the other one did , and you say your unforgiven too . Love it !
