You say you're not going to fight
'Cause no one will fight for you
And you think there's not enough love
And no one to give it to
And you're sure you've hurt for so long
You've got nothing left to lose
So you say you're not gonna fight
'Cause no one will fight for you

You say the weight of the world
Has kept you from letting go
And you think compassion's a flaw
And you'll never let it show
And you're sure you've hurt in a way
That no one will ever know

But someday the weight of the world
Will give you strength to go

Hold on, the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go
So hold on, the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go
So hold on, the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go
Just hold, on the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go

Most of the song explains its own meaning.

    "The weight of the world
will give you the strength to go"

I think this means that the more pressure we experience--the more we are challenged, the more we challenge ourselves--the greater we can become. We do not move without being prompted. Sometimes it takes something outside ourselves to make us see that it's time to change.

Basically saying that you go through pain, and you have lost your meaning, your push to keep going. The weigh is to much so make your self walls and harden you heart so no one will see but one day the weight will show you why to keep fighting. What you fight for every day, why to keep pushing.

It's about a boy being abused. He feels all alone with no way out of his pain.  the weight of the world is when he can no longer keep the secret. He breaks his silence that gives him the inner strength to stop the abuse and move on with his life.

For me this meaning is simple; it's all about the various knocks you receive over the course of your life. After a while you do feel like its just not worth it, like when you have exams coming up and it's so complicated and you can't understand and everyone's explaining it to you and you still don't get it completely, you reach a point when you think "why should i even try anymore? ". You also hold on to that hurt from people or events in your life and you only seem to get hurt more so you give up because no one understands you and no one wants to give you a break. At the end of the day though it is these cuts and bruises that make us stronger, that surfing them give us the will to go on and when you get up from the knocks of life you'll always be able to go on. This song is beautiful, as always
