Linkin Park – Iridescent lyrics
When you were standing in the wake of devastation
When you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
With the cataclysm raining down
Your insides crying, "Save me now"
You were there, impossibly alone.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failures all you've known
.
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go.
Let it go
.

And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
With no one there to catch you in their arms.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failures all you've known.
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go.
Let it go.

(Instrumental Break)

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failures all you've known.
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go.
Let it go.

Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failures all you've known.
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go.
Let it go.

Beautiful. As if you're walking through a portal, picking and choosing the most horrific, terrible, crushing points in your life and tossing them into the wind, to forever be forgotten. You have to put things behind you in order to push on. Iridescent. 'displaying a play of lustrous colors like those of the rainbow' Like a rainbow, we all have our colors, per say. I like to think of this song as a way of telling some one, "You are colorful. You are worth it. Brush yourself off, get up, and make something great with what you've got."

This song truly reflects my life, where all my friends have already moved onto another school, yet I am here still hoping that they would remeber the good times we had before and come back to spend time. Apparently it looks like everyone moved on except me, still holding onto their false promises of being together forever. It just cuts so deep to think that they have forgotten all we had when they are away. When they are having the time of their lives with others, I'm left behind to pick up the pieces of what used to be a happy group of friends who swore to go through thick and thin together.

Iridescent is about having the ability to forget and not holding on to memories that can only hinder you. It is about forgiveness and not holding yourself accountable for your misfortune, but holding yourself accountable for not doing anything about it. If something went wrong today you have to be able to forget about it and move on because tomorrow is a different day. Just let it go and move on.

For me, this song is more of a song that aims to uplift. The first few lines would suggest that the song is about being torn apart and alone. But then it says to 'let it go! ' and I believe that's the most important message this song brings. That no matter how lost you are, no matter how alone you might feel, those feelings once felt and accepted will pass. :)

Every one writes that they get hope from this song. I'm gonna do the same. At the release week of this album, my grandfather got a heart attack. It has been alot of time spended on him on the hospital, sadly. Today he can't speak, but he's learning it back like he was 3 years old. He can't walk and we don't know how long he will live. Thanks for reading, linkin park.

This song means so much to me because I was their fan since 2007, so I was 9 years old and I lost my memory of them because I had bumped my head onto a wall and lost some memory and I could only remember a few songs from them. I didn't really put some research into those few songs because I wasn't one of those who listens to that many songs. I was getting not very popular and I was one of those not having many friends and they only use me for help and all that because I was smart. On my 13th birthdayi recieved my ipod and I decide to grab those songs from them. Afterwards, I downloaded their albums, including road to revolution, and reanimation and loved those albums, I really didn't get them but when iridescent was playing, I felt a feeling that it hit me. That's when I putted research into the song and the others and all of them fell into this one name called 'linkin park'. I wasn't into rock but this song has so much emotion that I loved it. I started to be a fan of them by the end of april. When I went to watch transformers 3(not a big fan of them)and heard this songplayed in the background, I dearly loved them. Then hen school came back, I wasn't being unpopularanymore, I was talking to a majority of friends, but they knew my obsession with them, but didn't care cause how I changed my look. So this is how I became their great and surviving fan of them for 5 years because they have saved my life. Thank you linkin park for everything you guys have done to me. Really wish that you guys can see me as of now. I have problems at home with my mom because she thinks that I love rock and all that whish is bad for me as she sees it. Well linkin park as brought me deeper into the world of rock, but i'll always stick my heart to them. Then I was having anger issues with her because she doesn't want me liking them. Then now she realized that they saved me. But I'm still having anger issues because of her. And there is a linkin park concert coming up in 8/19/12 and the closest to me, alpharetta, georgia. It's about 4 hours away, and I really need to go, but my mom says no because it's too far and wastes a lot of gas. I know that, but I baldy need to see them because I won't be able to see them in the future. It's only a once in a lifetime to go and I need this opportunity. I need it bad because, I cry whenever my emotions are upset and I cry over it because my parents can't give me this chance to see them. Really hope that I can go. But I just wanna say that they have saved and changed my life from depression, and for that, thank you so much linkin park, I'm really hoping that I can see you guys. With pleasure to write, and opening their heart, yoaly ♥

I was once lonely in my new school after losing my whole house to a fire. It killed me so much. I was only six, and I'd already lost the home I thought I'd have my whole life. But a few weeks after I'd gotten used to being in a new place, I heard this song. It made me understand that it was only the past, and that I could move on away from it. So I did. I began to make friends at my new school, and I knew that lingering in my past would just hurt me more. Thank you, linkin park (mainly chester) for writing this song and lifting my spirits. Forever your fan.

I think this means when we reach those insurmountable failures in life, it can seem devastating, and as if nobody is there around you. When we feel this way we often can become cold and unfeeling to others, but are often times lost within our own minds as to how to sort things out. The disappointment from not being all that we wanted to be, at some point, has to be released. We can't constantly think of it because when it seems as if we have fallen so badly and the world is ending, there is grace that saves us from such things. So, we can learn from these mistakes and then keep moving, in order to further our journey to true happiness.

I am using it with my grade 6 class and am making a connection between iridescent and war. In my case, I am linking it to the anzac soldiers who arrived to the terror of gallipoli. To me the first part of the song captures the moment beautifully and sums up the overwhelming devastation and frustration. I am presenting it to a photo presentation beginning with the anzacs and moving forward through time to today's soldiers on peace keeping missions.

    Today
My 16 yr. Old daughter is hooked on drugs. She has been running away from home a lot lately to get her fix. A few months ago she went to rehab when she told us she had a problem and wanted help. She is now deteriorating before my eyes and there's not a damn thing I can do about it until she's ready to admitt her disease is destroying her.
She needs help but can't bring herself to get it.

Iridescent means not loosing the hope never even in the darkest times of your life, it tells me abiut moving on without forgetting that bad times when you thought you could'nt go on any longer. That times is whata makes us stronger, when you fall you always find the strength to lift youself off the ground and keep going with more faith than before. Never loose faith in the good things and the most important thing, never loose faith in yourself.

Iridescent, in my opinion is about alll that baggage we have to carry. Ever once and a while its to much to handle and we fall. We reach our absolute lowest. We feel alone and scared and as if nothing is goin to get batter but its true strength when your constantly let down and stepped upon and still have the ability to get up and take another step haha so letting go of all the wrong to have enough room to ake in all the good. Your going to have some reallly rough times. Trust me I've been lost in desperation and felt as though I was falling with no one to catch me but its all about getting back up and letting go of all he hard times.

E lasciale andare
    lasciale andare.
    Lasciale andare.

This is the song of floyd mayweather jr. He wants to let go of manny pacquiao's arsenal decade. He still believes that he is the world's best fighter in the history. But manny pacquiao is armed with the hardest bone structure in the world. His hand, pure density of steel, keeps everyone behind history. Mayweather may have skills, the quickest instinct comparable to speed of light, but manny pacquiao still has the gift of an iron fist. Iridescent.

I listen to it when I feel defeated by everything. I have a guy friend who I think I love and he knows and he taunts me with it. He flirts and is cute with me but he says no to anyone who asks him about me. Every time I feel like crying about that I listen to this song. It's beautiful, it's kind of a mopey song, perfect for my mood, but it also kind of helps me back up.

In definition iridescent means showing luminous colors that seem to change when seen from different angles, but in life iridescent is personified in each and everyone of us. Although at some views we may seem crass, weak, or terrible but if you were to get to know everyone for who they really are you would love them just as god does. This song speaks to everyone pushing the point that even though people are only seeing one side of you to "let it go" and just be who you are and someone will see you for who you are, it just depends on the person and their point of view.

I've been through so much in the couple months. I listen to this song everytime I'm upset and it brings me to smile. I think of all the good things in my life and I'm thankful for all of them things and people. I wouldn't have been able to go on with my life without my family and friends. This song is by my favorite band. There songs hav actual meaning to them and this one makes me cry. Always loved linkin park from the beginning til the end which I'm not waiting for: b

Does it have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks? Just the way it speaks about a wake, cataclysm, devastation. And especially "burst of light that blinded every angel" & "skys had blown, the heavens into stars" (plane crashing into twin towers causing massive fire and explosion, and destruction) its just a guess but yeahh like it if you agree that it has something to do with the 9/11 attacks cause I wanma know if I'm guesting right here or not?

The first time I heard this song, I imagined how this would reflect our life, I found out what this song meant. The song shows how life can be, it has its hopes and up, but then it has failure and down. Life needs hope, keep it within you. Finding your self it letting go the sandness and failures you got. Remember those moments you had in your life, those good moments, life is balance, don't get the lower part of life take advantage of you. Let life be happy. Even if you had a breakdown, there will always be happiness. Look on the bright side. And be happy.

For me it means something like when you have met the person you are mean to spend the rest of your life with but don't know it at the time but your heart and body know it but the mind doesn't consciously know it yet, so you feel lost without them until you realise the want and need of that person you feel lost and desperate to be with them you just don't realise it yet.

This song is about a person who is suffering from bad conditions. It provides symphathy to him. Hope gives not only symphathy but also shows the way of freedom. I know you would be feeling free to listen this song. Lyrics of this song is better but the music is much better. I found on net that lp making its new album and chester is saying"we are working hard for new song.these song wil polorize the people". So lp will make more songs like that.

I believe the song is about letting go of your past pains. I also think it's saying that if you want hope, forget about the times you failed and let go all the times you had pain. This song reminds me of a loved one I lost. I don't think I'm ever going to get him back. I have to let go of my own sadness in order to have new hope in my life.

This song really means a lot to me. Now I'm in desperation because I got B at structure analysis test, got C at fluid mechanics and steel structure test. I've studied every night and day just to pass those test with A, it seems my all of my efforts just useless, and I don't know what to say to my parents now. Hope I can do better at the next exam. Thousands of thanks for creating this great song.

I saw someone with regrets in her life, she was all alone in a cloudy evening, I know her but not very well. Maybe she weeps a little for the time she spent with a wrong person. She was living like as if it seems there is no hope. Finally someone got a chance to pull her out. Taught her to push herself ahead by letting go her sorrow, loneliness and pain. Finally she got the real meaning of the most beautiful woman. Nt exactly a meaning but a great connection. To this song and it meant a lot.

When you feel like everything's going wrong and you're really depressed, look at all of your problems, and let them go. If you hold on to them nothing's going to get better. This song is really emotionally connective with me, and I had a magor period of deep depression after my first gf dumped me, and I just spent ages listening to this song and taking the awesome music and lyrics in.

It feels great hearing this song, expressing how you feel deeply in pain, sorrow and learning to move on. Letting yourself free from negative thoughts and getting that positve idea and hoping for brighter tommorow. This song is lovely dedicated to my friend who passed away three days ago:(because of deep pain and depression he did not survive it. To you my friend, Let it Go and God be with you. I know your up there right beside him. Thank you and we love you!

It's about a point in your life wherein you feel lost and alone. When your life is full of burdens and problems, and you feel that no one is there to help you through. But in the end, the song is telling the person to let go of all the pains and sufferings that he is feeling because it won't do you any good to grab on to it. It is better to let it go and move on to life.

The definition of iridescent(the word): property of certain surfaces that appear to change color as the angle of view or the angle of illumination changes. In this song which is superbly sung by linkin park. Personally, I see myself, my troubles, my sadness, my past, my anger, and I need to "let it go" remember what has been done, and let it go. How alone one can feel in this big world is surprisingly shattering isn't it?

Now I'm going by the title and lyrics of the song but iridescent means like the changing of colors looking at different angles so like a bubble but anyways to me it means if you look something at a different angle it might different and you might see what is wrong and you can fix it so all the sadness your feeling might be just something you don't need and you can let go of.

My meaning? Its the song I listen to when the world is too much to bear. When I just want to crumble and die because I think I'm not worthy of living any more, its the song I listen to when someone I love causes me pain or even when I feel so lonely. Its the song where I let go of all the pain and chaos in my life. One song does all this. One song? No, one powerful and meaningful song.

I tried to rent an apartment and wrote a nice email, looked at the place and thought it went well, but I just received the mail that someone else got it. I'm sad because I want to start my new life, move out of my childhood home and it doesn't seem to work. I keep trying, I'm a decent, polite, neat, well-organized, intelligent girl in a high-powered career path, have enough money etc. But I keep getting declines. This song has helped me to deal with my frustration just now.

Literally, iridescent means a property of certain surfaces that appear to change color as the angle of view or angle of illumination changes. Now, relating the song to real life, it means, every human life on earth is very meaning and colorful. Let's hold back the grudge, angst and anger inside of us and throw it out. Let our color shine like a rainbow in the sky! Our true colors will reveal depending on life's point of view. That's a very nice song of linkin park! I love it. Keep it up guys! I'm an avid fan of yours.

When you reach a point in life when every thing seems to be going wrong, everyone's against you, you're all alone and no one's by your side. You feel awful, you build yourself up just to get knocked back down, and that gets irritating after a while. Theres no one there to help you to your feet, so you have to put up with the frustration and the sadness and all the negativity, by yourself. But despite of all this, we should just get over it, not forget, just move on from all the negativity and find peace within ourselves.

Many many times I've felt like this. When you work hard, with love, honestly, but in the end nothing turns up to be as you expected, desperation shows up and loneliness surrounds you. But the truth is that you have to let it go, stand up again and keep moving and never surrender. God is always there for you and people who really love you will be by your side. Great song!

Jesus is here for us and cares about us. We only feel it when we're alone and in a bad time. He forgives our failures and knows everything about us because he cares of us. And when we let the past go (=we give everything to jesus), we can start over with and for him and lay our life before him down to adore him and make his name big.
