There's someone in "The Attic",
Building a strange machine.
Never really seen him,
But I think he works all day.
Blinded by the world outside,
I stay inside. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/i/in_flames/the_attic.html ]
Hardly know my name,
But it's getting better by time.
I saw something in the mirror,
Someone's watching me.
If I hide in "The Attic",
I will never get to me.
I found some rope on the floor.
I have to build a trap.
In various interveiws i watched this is a ghost story anders heard when he was younger. He didn't want to change the words or add any more so kept it like this. :)

It's about a man building a machine in an attic.
Like a secret invention, like thomas edison or alexander graham bell. He hides it in the attic because he doesn't want any great inventors coming along stealing his idea.
So he patents it so it's rightfully his.
Then he wins the nobel prize. And gets a blowjob

Insanity and it is a loop of insanity he is the crazy man making the machine/trap he sees himself making and needs to build a trap/machine to catch himself which triggers him to build a trap/machine to catch the guy building the machine/trap not sure if he actually dies as yet i think he is locked in the loop totally insane
It is a scary song about a man who accidently hangs himself.
It comes forth during all of the song really.
Verse 1 is him building the trap. Verse 7 is him building the trap.
When he goes into "the attic", he is trapped.. Because the song is designed as a loop due to verse 1 and verse 7.. So in a sense.
1: "someone" builds the machine. 2: tells himself to hide from himself in "the attic". 3: he get's himself hanged by accident as he went to "the attic". - here he dies. 4. Verse 7 is designed to be what comes as verse "-1", and verse 8 as verse "0".
So, if you read from verse 7, then 8, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.. There you go.
Well, he sees a person in "the attic" which is building a strange machine, which is later revealed to be himself as verse 1+8 hints towards and that verse 5+6 clearly verifies.
So hes singing about himself in "the attic"(which by the "'s i can only believe that it is as a metaphor).
The trap he is talking about in verse 7, may it be his trap to capture his "evil in a closet"?
I'm no master lyrical genius, but il bet you 2 and a half baot-is that im onto something;)
