Have you seen the sun?
Have you seen the sun?
Or has the darkness dragged you further from your door?
Take each other’s hands.
Look into the clouds.
Such a beautiful song we sing.
Finally finding our own way back home.
Such a beautiful song we sing.
Oh no, this is no time for excuses.
We’ve singled you out and the leaders keep running away.
The sound of trumpets will carry you home.
The sound of trumpets will resound and we all sing.
Take each other’s hands.
Look into the clouds.
Such a beautiful song we sing.
Finally finding our own way back home.
Such a beautiful song we sing. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/h/haste_the_day/the_minor_prophets.html ]
Re-break the bone to assure the healing.
So that we might know you again.
Re-break the bone.
Re-break the bone.
Re-break the bone.
Sound the alarm like a vulture on the nation with silver.
Oh no, have we sealed our own destruction?
Walking away from the only thing that matters.
Re-break the bone.
Re-break the bone.
Re-break the bone to asure the healing.
Re-break the bone.
Know you again.
Take each other’s hands.
Look into the clouds.
Such a beautiful song we sing.
Finally finding our own way back home.
Such a beautiful song we sing.
The sound of trumpets will carry you home.
The sound of trumpets will resound and we all sing.
Re-break.
This is a pretty rocking song, and i think it has quite deep meaning.
It immediately invokes the imagery of revelation 1:7 (see also mt 24:30 26:64 ac 1:9,11), when the bible describes jesus' return. The saints (i.e. Believers) will meet jesus and rejoice or sing before him in their home in heaven.
This song also carries a warning not to throw away faith and highlights the fact that we need constant reminders. I think it also touches on the need to remain vigilant.
I think the title matches with the above in that this forms a sort of prophecy (i.e. A future event that has not yet happened). Prophets were often ignored (especially minor ones) so the title might be pointing to this as an underrated message that has been largely ignored.
Haste the day have done a great job of including multiple aspects of their faith within this one song. Nice one boys!
