This song is about this lady that lacey met named tina and tina was abused and couldn't hang onto life anymore so she burned herself alive ("now they only stare at her burns, her small voice so full of honesty"). She's asked for her children to be safe because she didn't want to be alive anymore ("take care of my loves, i can't hold on"). But the pain was too much, so she asked god to make the pain go away, which was the first time she had ever talked to god, and then she still lives. ("i missed my chance, send one more chance! I'm not wasting this one more chance. ")
god gave her another chance at life. It's a truely beautiful song.
